Yup. All the money I earn through not soending every hour on vidya goes into buying shit I don't need. This is the way of things.

Yeah, well you're lucky. I got told by a surgeon that I would never be able to work again in Feb 2003. He was spot on.

Nerds. Jesus christ. How do you have the time?

I'd love never to work again and get benefits for it tbh. I don't care much for the cash, I value time above all else. Once gone it can never be reclaimed, unlike money.

That said, time becomes less valuable when you have an abundance of it. I honestly aim to be no longer working full time by 35. Right on track for that too.

Teach me your secret!

All depends on goals. The only debt I have is my mortgage, we're about to sell and upgrade houses and our debt will remain about the same thanks to equity. Got everything we need in terms of cars, furnishings and whatnot. We don't want for much. I did heaps of travel with my parents so I have zero travel desires and my misses is happy with a registry wedding. Boring but who gives a ****, we're just that comfortable financially. The only place my cash is going at the moment is the mortgage, investments and daily living.

The investments are key. I could actually cut my hours from 40 to 20 as of tomorrow and still have plenty of financial freedom. 20 hours is a sweet spot. Enough to keep you occupied and enough cash to cover living provided you are setup with what you need for the long term.

Aside from all this, there are things I want to achieve career wise before I do that, just things to tick off and say you've done them so you don't have regrets about having not done things.

I have got to be honest I was hoping the answer was more along the lines of "cook meth, get rich"

However that is very good advice, I'd love to travel more I've only been to Singapore and KL.

You would get so bored it would drive you insane. I tried to get back into the workforce...desperately a few years ago, I mean I can operate a computer. I am still waiting for that return call from Centrelink, from 2012. I am a liability, and am not permitted to even do voluntary work and they are just waiting for me to die. Doing nothing all day is a curse, not a luxury...it is depressing

What happened for everyone to apparently declare you a liability if you don't mind me asking? Are you an older gentleman?

The song contest theme this week is video game music, which leaves me with a dilemma.

I was 38 at the time. Just started dropping things and having pain, went in to get pre-op for carpal tunnel surgery and the surgeon did a few tests and declared I had nerve damage. 5 or 6 years of tests later I found I was suffering trauma from getting hit by a car when I was about 4...nerve damage in my arms and neck, also have neuropathic pain in my back. My ulnar nerves were stuck in my elbow joints in both arms, had surgery in one arm, but they decided it wasn't worth doing the other arm as the nerve didn't heal in the arm they did, meaning it had to be over 20 years since the damage had been done. I can't bend over at all and suffer moderate pain constantly without end. It's my neck they were worried about mostly...a whiplash injury

......
Also I drove a commodore and always got pulled over.
Now a 380 and no police ever bother me.
As part of SAPOL's Cultural Awareness Training officers are trained to leave you and the guy driving the P76 alone.
