If you invest the right amount of money, a PC will have you covered for 5 years, maybe more. It's the people that put in 1k that find themselves swapping parts out after 2 years or so.
It depends what works best for your budget and goals, there are definitely causes to go for a super PC or a bang for buck one but you definately shell out more and suffer massive depreciation for a super PC, but if you time your purchases right with particular generations of hardware you will end up with a great long term pc. I really have empathy for those that build a PC with wizzbang stuff and the next generation/pin config for CPUs comes out shortly after.
Do your research, never buy cutting edge new technology unless the architecture it utilises has been around for 6+ months. Buying the first versions of, for example DDR4 or a new video card configuration GAURENTEED TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE BY A BILLIONTY PERCENT! Are always suicide. Wait for the second generation of a new tech because the drivers are always shit, the support in games is rubbish and nothing is optimised.
I like how people are like OMG THIS PHONE HAS AN OCTACORE PROCESSOR I MUST HAVE IT.
Then every app they use utilises two cores because they aren't built to run on 8.
Lol dork.

Physical copy is only 5gb, still need to do a 19gb steam download!!!!!
Did laugh when I heard that.
Steam copy = 114 AUD
JB physical disc = 59 AUD
Time = priceless.
Plus having to care for your stupid disk.
Then the fact of actually having a disk drive. What even is a disk drive.
My son's JB Hi-Fi copy got delivered today, and we live in the sticks. The guy drove it to our letterbox
Judging from the gnashing of teeth on the JB facebook, it looks like the courier company arbitrarily chose which shipments would be getting through today and which would be held over to tomorrow.
I was one of the stiffs.
