I refused to go see them last year after seeing them at the BDO where I lost all my clothes bar my boxers and my ripped in half shorts that where hanging like. A kilt.

one of my biggest regrets is missing wolf eyes when they played at rocket bar a bunch of years ago, then reading about how they were the loudest band ever.

on my bucket list is seeing electric wizard play funeralopolis live. i can die happy after that. it better be loud enough that my bowels open involuntarily though.

btw while we're on the subject i don't think t-swift is some sort of super musical genius, but i love the **** out of her songs

Brown note? 20 Hz is hypothetically what can cause this. Thebby is notorious being too loud.
Can't wait for SunnO))) next year.

I'm not sure whether it was the thebby or just the fact it was the first band I saw live, but I saw Slipknot in 1999 and my young virgin ears were ringing for 3 days. Nothing has had the same effect since and I've been to a shit ton of shows/stood right next to speakers etc.

i have to admit i don't really follow metal or music in general that closely these days, but i first listened to these guys a few weeks ago and they blew me away


there's so much metal out there, that to really stand out you have to do things a bit differently or really have a good edge. so i like checking out the bands that are sound kinda grimy/push the edges a bit. i love the first dragged into sunlight album for instance (not aussie metal though)

90% of what i listen to metalwise these days is stoner/doom. not sure why, it just is.

Portal played here a couple of months ago at Adelaide uni in one of their rare appearances. Played two nights to cover Bolt Thrower pulling out 'cause their drummer passed away just prior to them coming to Australia. Was a bit overwhelming but absurdly good.
