Cultural change will.not.happen under prohibition because it prevents the stigma from ever being removed. Basically every stat I've seen about countries and states which have legalised drugs has been a reduction of use. Again it sounds pretty logical to say "if you legalise it it will be more prevalent" but saying "if we outlaw it will won't be used" is also pretty logical, it just doesn't happen in reality. Why not do what we can do make the drugs (like MDMA etc) safer?Legalisation will not fix drug abuse. Not even close. It's a poor argument really as Howard's gun laws has actually fixed a lot of shit and prevented bad shit from happening. Prohibition has not done that to drugs. Legalisation will not do it. Only cultural change will.
People who take too many drugs would continue to take too many drugs, whether they get them from the silk road or the smokes counter at woolies, and the negative effects on society will also be felt.
Ice is a whole other kettle of fish requiring a whole other solution. That shit is just nuts.
