Time. Its just me, mum, and my partner, and with 2 full time jobs and 3 part time jobs between us, I just can't get out for lessons frequently enough to build confidence. Also my partner and I only have one car (at least til I start getting my HQ fixed up) and I'm pretty paranoid driving it as any accidents and she wouldn't be able to work.

Dad took me out once when I was younger and he was in town, I mounted a curve then he mounted my face in the steering column. We decided its best if he doesn't take me out anymore.

You sound an awful lot like someone I employed at Dickies. Uncanny. He still hasn't got his licence, but he was never late for work. He has to leave early sometimes to catch trains/buses but he always made up for it.

If I were you, I'd take the challenge, and the short term pain of having no time at all to jist get'r'done. Afterwards, you will have even more time on your hands with a set of wheels at your fingertips, not to mention the intangible benefits such as employability.

I applied for over 200 jobs before i had my start in my current one, in which been trained and gone up the ladder
Adelaide is very much who you know not what you know

Its not just up to me though. My partner works 2 jobs and mum just the one but after 30 years of being a stay at home mum, single mum, housewife and dad all rolled in to one, I think she's earned her freedom and I don't want to stop her enjoying the social life she missed in her 20s, 30s, and 40s. It's part of me trying to become less selfish I guess.

I'm late to work sometimes but I always stay a bit late, whether I'm late to that shift or not, and work is good enough to see that as fair.

This job stuff reminds me of my first interview at... wait for it... The Advertiser! Aged sixteen and going for a cadet journo. Absolute disaster. Haven't got much better at interviews since, lol.

Recently took on a part-timer at a supermarket for some steady income. The uncertainty of freelance can be a real bitch. Feast and famine.

(Actually, the work never dries up. It's just the paid work that does. Oh, it's your "passion project?" That's great. It's not mine. Good luck with that!)

So yeah, it's been an interesting three months. First time really working with middle-management. And what a colossal cluster-f@%k that's been. Colleagues are good people, though. And I get awesome material from the daily shitfight.

Anyway, you do what you gotta do to do what you wanna do...

I admit though having a casual job where you still need centrelink to help top up your pay can be such a hassle it ALMOST isn't worth it, you don't correctly report everything that you earn, and Centrelink come and rape you up the arse financially. If Centrelink **** up on their end, Centrelink come and rape you up the arse.

**** me Europe, why didn't they just make music like this instead of The Final Countdown?

Not that there is anything wrong with The Final Countdown mind you!

Geez the last couple of pages almost need a depression trigger warning. Job interviews? What a nightmare.

I don't have an opportunity to go see Star Wars for at least a week so I'm just succumbing to the fact it'll get spoilt
I booked a ticket to see it by myself on Friday night for this exact reason.

Nobody was free to see it but I don't want there to be a conversation about it I can't be involved in.

I'll probably see it more than once.

Adelaide oval expansion gets approved 15 trees need to be removed.

This city has a fascination with the removal of trees.

I need a chrome extension for real life conversations
I just had visits of a dystopian future that no one realises is dystopian, because the computer in their head automatically filters out all suffering that is near them. Homeless person? No, its a lovely rosebush

EDGY AS ****

I don't think I've ever had a proper job interview.

As they say "it's not what you know it's who you blow".

Get on your knees boys and girls.
Hard to answer questions when your mouth is full...amirite?
