Kreia is a brilliant character, but the story outside of her is average. The other villains get very little to no explaination or screentime. Darth nihilus is criminally underused in terms of character development.

Agree on the Nihilus, but I love the story and its themes of war and what it does to people, there's an underused element of the plot, especially in Star Wars.

You're trying to pick up the pieces of broken worlds and people that have been torn apart by battle, again I've only read the gist of the first game but 2 seems more personal emotional. It was only touched on, extremely subtle, perhaps even unintentional, but the themes were there.

Back to Nihilus, the fact he was the, what comes after secondary? Thirdary? Thirdly? Villain was a bad move, he was far more iconic than Sion.

I really hope some star wars spinoffs feature a mandalorian story arc. So much potential, but the average person would have no knowledge of them and thus, be uninterested.

Nah fam, it's Star Wars. People are hella interested in it, in fact something fresh outside of the movie timeline would be huge. Something gritty and emotional based on some smuggler crew in the Old Republic. HBO shit. Do eeeeeeeeeet.

Gritty and emotional things are close to jumping the shark IMO.

Remember Star Wars started as Lucas's way of rebelling against the cinema of the time which was full of gritty, emotional, and depressing films. Even Rocky didn't win.

I look forward to a star wars where the rebels/republic are getting absolutely btfo, featuring lots of battle scenes where they are facing extinction at the hands of a sith war machine, ending in a depressing total annihilation where they have to part ways to different corners of the galaxy to disappear.

Another option could be a story from the empire/order side.

Or even the return of the true sith from the deepest parts of the universe. Mass effect style, holocrons tell of their return, no one believes the characters and then bang, massive catastrophic invasion devastating both the empire and the republic resulting in some teaming up/unease alliances or something.

Are we really talking about Lucas' original sentiments lmao the guy basically ruined the whole thing in order to sell merch

Perhaps gritty isn't the right word.

Smaller scale. It's always bloody DEATH STAR ULTIMATE CONQUEST it makes the galaxy feel incredibly small because we only see the most grand scale things.
We've seen 3 world destroying superweapons blown up with relative ease.

I'd like to at least see what it's like for your Han Solo type day to day living under the rule of a fascist religious fanatic wizard. Or under any other circumstance. It's probably the best fictional world, time to branch out in a meaningful way beyond novels... which are nearly all non-canon now.

The movies are just not deep enough, they really fail to harness what is such an incredibly lore rich universe.

Going with ANOTHER world destroying weapon was so incredibly stupid, who the **** even okayed that? Three times. Once would have been enough. Such a weird decision. Wonder what Jar Jar abrams thought.

Also

apparently harrison ford signed a three year movie deal, so speculation is already starting about how he will come back. I'm not convinced, he's too old. Will be weird to have leia but no han, though.

lol this was just posted in the Media and Entertainment board thread.

Where was the guy coming in and saying "YO THAT SHIT WAS TRASH, **** OUTTA HERE"... though the white kid at the end was on the money.

At least Shaq loved it.

"I think that little Anakin Skywalker -and everyone's gonna say it- stole that movie"

Maybe you'll enjoy Rogue One which is coming out next year, which focuses on the rebels who managed to steal the plans for the first Death Star...or the Han Solo movie that is coming out after Episode 8. They are doing exactly what you're asking for and exploring the world outside of the mysticism of the Force.

Dark Side.

And proud of it.

Definitely the dark side. The crows are basically the galactic senate. Bureaucrats who claim to be for the greater good but serve themselves only.
Port embrace passion, emotion and being intimidating. Easy choice really.

Yes, I am taking in to account the sentiments of the bloke that created the entire ****ing thing and made it such a worldwide phenomena that is still a feasible investment 30 years later allowing multiple generations to enjoy Star Wars.

The reason he had to sell merchandise was because he was a completely independent film maker with no ties to any studio, guild, or union.

He desperately needed to hand the reins over in the mid 90s, but he was still a visionary in the 70s.

I'd go as far to say Lucas still had it when they tested with waters for a new movie with The Shadows Of the Empire multimedia project. I loved that. Whilst he didn't create it he overseen the whole thing.
