Marriage fixed that for me. I only have to buy for Mrs Powerstufff. As far as anyone else goes she loves all that sort of stuff i.e. the politics of who gets what and then going and getting it. For 3 or 4 blissful years (can't remember exactly) young Miss Powerstufff even took on the buying of the one remaining present I was liable for. Sadly when she left to start her own family it was hand-passed back to me again.

I'm just getting everyone Port Store gift cards next year.

I haven't had to do a thing, the compromise was that if my misses wanted to have Christmas at our house, she had to do all the work. So I've had to do minimal stuff besides the occasional movement of furniture.
Should of stuck to your guns, now she knows you are weak and can exploit you into doing more work.

He's young, cocky and over-confident. Next year he'll be painting rooms and making three salads, and he won't even notice the change.

I had a courier delivery card on my doorstep put there by the guy who lives in unit 1. I live in unit 11. Maybe the driver was blind in one eye.

Maybe you are and you actually live in unit 11.

New Ghostbusters

I'd like to get in ahead of the undoubtedly misogynistic backlash that this movie's inevitable failure will generate, and say that any new sequel/remake of Ghostbusters was absolutely positively always going to be terrible.

lol, it's going to do so badly.

In other news, Kokkinakis is out of the Australian Open. Genuine shame and very upsetting for the lad. Now in terms of Aussies, all we have to watch is vanilla-man sam groth, ****stick kyrgios and douchecanoe tomic.

Who in the hell watches Tennis anyway?

Finally got to see the new Star Wars yesterday with the family and in a word - Meh.

Average re-make of the first with delusions of grandeur. 'You have a Death Star? Ha! We have a death planet'. 'You have a desert planet farm boy who takes months to train as a Jedi. We have a desert planet girl who can whip butt with zero training and despite being a scavenger can do anything with ships!'.

If it was a stand alone Sci-fi movie it would be OK (wooden acting aside), but as a Star Wars movie it cleared the low bar of the prequels, but certainly not the feel of the original trilogy. I'd also add agreement to those who think the musical score was average. No new iconic score like the Emperors or Duel of Fates.

Hopefully the second and third can redeem a poor start.

Once an original idea has been done anything that follows generally starts to wane & or it becomes repetitive it's why most bands suck after 3 or 4 albums (of course there is always an exception or two but few and far between)........ You can relate this to Star Wars IMO

Why would saying it's shit be misogynistic? A poor remake is a poor remake.

You know what else is going to be shit? Batman vs Superman - and that has *shock horror* the two biggest male superheroes of all time in it.

Currently on holiday in the US so bringing back a few gifts for people but only close friends and parents.

Also, I spotted another guy in a PA monogram hat in Time Square today. First footy supporter I've seen over here so far.

Can you please bring me back some stuff.

I'll introduce myself when you land in Adelaide.

Ta.

Sure there was Death Star 3.0 but that whole part of the movie wasn't really the focus. The strength was in the characters.
Janus has some good theories about how Rey used the dark side to counter act an unstable Kylo Ren and read his mind. Kylo is a weak ass Sith fanboi pretender anyway.

Most of the dumb arse training mumbo jumbo was introduced in the prequels. Luke didn't get a lot of training really. Force users can naturally channel it without training but they have little control.
Wooden acting tho? I gotta say I disagree completely. The score was underwhelming however.

Yep, that's why Episode 7 is on track to rake in $1b just in the US alone, with people going to see it multiple times. Oh, and it looks like it's going to destroy the attendance record of Crocodile Dundee here, which was the most attended film in Australia. It'd be like if the Beatles were suddenly resurrected and said 'Let's put out some new albums'.

If you don't like it, cool. You're part of the 5% who don't.

People expect too much is what I'm saying nothing will live up to the original trilogy, if you love SW great enjoy it but there's no reinventing the wheel so accept it.

*pfft when is money generated ever a true representation of greatness?

*I hate the ******* Beatles

It won't entirely be, but it will partially be.

There will be plenty of men with skin conditions on Twitter telling us how a straight bloke-only movie would've been a totally awesome and not at all culturally irrelevant remake, but the PC-brigade of social justice warriors on Tumblr turned it into a misandrist dirge.
