How can it be an unpopular opinion when Lemmy himself considered himself a 'rock and roll' merchant rather then a metal head?

Having said that, growing up I listened to Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Metallica and bands like that. My personal favourite was 'Another perfect day' album myself but I'm odd like that.

Lemmy may have said it but they're always reported as a metal band. Always.

Lemmy had his fingers firmly on the pulse of rock n roll though.

Yeah sure, tell yourself that it wasn't a completely conscious decision by a highly funded marketing team. She's the mainest of the main characters and Generic TIE Pilot gets more toys and shelf space than her?

You say feminists are lashing out but you're the one getting angry here. All I see is people pointing out something reasonably questionable.

I won't be surprised if she comes in a pink box because "marketing".

I would think that they're metal in the classic metal sense, which is a small group. Metal which doesn't fall in to any subgenre. Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and maybe Motorhead, but personally classification and label, like it means anything anyway, is hard rock.

And if Rey showed up in toys prior to the movie release in sets (like the Falcon or with a Lightsaber), that weren't in trailers the complaints now would be a whisper compared to the cries of spoiling the film. Disney in a no win. Now it's released if a bunch more Rey stuff doesn't come out then you could make a point.

Let's also go with Disney are a business. If their focus group analysis showed that a mix of sets that doesn't contain as many Rey is going to maximise their profits, then it's their right (as a business the no-brainer) to do that.

I am thinking kylo will be a popular choice too for baby names

Haha I can definitely see this happening. Just on the name Kylo...

...does it bother anyone else that the guy who renounces the name given to him by his parents chooses an alias that references both of them (Skywalker Solo)? I get that it's a wink wink to the audience but still, it doesn't make sense for his character. He may as well have gone with Ben Ren if he's gonna be so sentimental.

I'm pretty sure he said he wanted to see her dressed up semi-nude in a slave costume, correct me if I'm wrong.
And...I'd like to see her fully nude in my bed. That does not make me a misogynist, there are many women I'd like to see fully naked (I'd settle for a metal bikini clad) in my bed. Just as many women would like to see the Poe Dameron character just wearing his helmet .

Now, if he had said he would like to see her in a slave Leia costume and relegated to a bit part because its daft having a female lead who is also a Jedi and she is not good enough an actress so we need to see her boobs. That would be sexist.

That he is attracted to a more than adequately clothed strong female character is a positive.

You missed a couple

That last hashtag is plain wrong what people do with their wife and how they feel about their daughter are in no way related nor is the way they think of them, to lump them under 'female' and assume the attitude is the same to all is far too simplistic and ignores the nuances of all relationships (both ways).

Eg.
mum - I'm glad somebody wanted to bang or I wouldn't exist.
wife/so - of course people fancy her, I fancy her, it's one of the reasons I'm with her.
daughter - even look at her I'll kill you.

As for the slave metaphor, I like Carrie Fishers take on it.

No chance, there is very much an awareness this time around. The re-gendering of Captain Phasma is a good example of that. A good thing too.

"We are Motörhead....and we play rock n roll!"

My comment was a joke, at the expense of some old heads in marketing. "We do thing this way because that's the we done it since forever"

I just assumed he was related to Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O

Playing the swtor mmo ..the stories are fantastic

Unfortunately what kills SWTOR is the MMO grind side of it. But if you somehow managed to get a few friends to play it with you and go through all the quests together - some of the later missions, when you need 10 - 12 people to complete them, are ****ing awesome. It is worth at least one run through as a Jedi Knight, which kind of equates to KOTOR 2.5.

For instance, there is a four player mission where you have to infiltrate Darth Malgus' base, who has proclaimed himself Emperor. After going through the entire base, you end up in a place that looks suspiciously like Palpatine's throne room on the Death Star...and in order to win the battle you can't just kill Malgus...you have to have a Jedi with you that can force push him over the edge and into the reactor...otherwise he'll wipe the entire party with Force Lightning :P

Lemmy in The Head Cat (Slim Jim Phantom from the Stray Cats on drums) he loved early rock n' roll

Saw Star Wars: TFA last night. Good solid movie in the spirit of the original. Liked the new generation and could have done without the original cast but I guess they had to pass the torch.

At least Harrison Ford earned his paycheck and star billing. Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill, not so much.

Ugh... someone broke into my car, nothing serious. just about $5 in loose change, a laptop with a fried motherboard (that i was going to dump today anyway) and a buttbin ashtray. I suppose it was better that the car was unlocked and i dont have to replace a broken window or busted lock.

Not too sure what use a full ashtray is to anyone though. Now off to bunnings to buy a proper sensor floodlight.

I think the difference in paychecks between those 3 represents the amount of screen time.

Also, on the Rey toys issue, I have been in a lot of toy sections, and Star Wars sections recently, and really have not seen many, if any, Fin toys. Racist?

For a dude that's desperate enough to break into cars for loose change there would be a lot of unspent tobacco in those butts.

This new Muppets show, is it any good?

I'm trying to watch it but can't tell.
Awful, looks like any average kids' show on Foxtel. The original was must-watch, funny, adult TV in its day. I can't even remember how that was with so many dumbed down movies etc since but it was.

I suppose but they did leave about $2 in silver in there so they couldn't have been that desperate.
