As for the comment about prados

Hehe, I've a mate with a Prado and he always arcs up when I stir him about it too. Sounds like you've got a good one.

A bit of 4wding is good fun. Best time I've had in mine was out on Fraser Island. Really opened my eyes as to where they can go. Didn't think I'd make it up a couple of climbs. Was pretty amazing.

Yep. My favourite haunt is Renmark - easy to just go bush there driving for an hour or two and not even know if you are in another state, but you never see anyone anywhere and the land is completely pristine. So much Callop, and the carp are the size of your leg.

The gold coast is alright, but it's more of a tourist area and less of a "I want to live here long term" place.

I'm considering the Commonwealth Games which will be in 2018 so wouldn't be a long term thing. Must be fun to live for a while where people usually go for their vacations. I'm a big city man generally speaking so I can't help thinking I'd enjoy Sydney though

I did not realise before that Melbourne's population is nearly as big as Sydney's: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_Australia_by_population though both are smaller than Rio's
