And all I've been arguing since this started is don't be a dick in general and treat everyone the same, not take it from one extreme to the other. Somehow that makes me sexist, racist, ageist and whatever ist is currently trending on Twitter.

Edit: And that whoever you are, you have the capacity to change yourself, even if some can change more than others. Go do it, as no one else will, so stop complaining life sucks and act.

My dad is not one for advice but one pearl of wisdom that has stuck with me is "if you want the world to be a better place then don't be an arseh*le". So I think you've certainly got that part right.

Unfortunately it's not a level playing field out there, so it's not enough by itself. Disadvantaged people need a little extra help if you really want to "treat everyone the same".
