The only reason why we know of the great composers in history is because they sold out to kings or nobelmen with money becoming courtmen and the like.

Talking about musical artists selling out is like complaining that an athlete went professional.

I don't think his point is so much that it's bad to do homage and pastiche of older stuff, more that Wolfmother's stuff is flaccid Zeppelin karaoke.

Whether you love his 60s Italian pop album or not, you can't say he didn't put a stamp on it.
