For a bloke of his ability he's an underachiever, 103 tests 42 average 15 hundreds it's nothing startling

His captaincy record would be beyond ordinary I'd imagine

42 shocking☹ ... And I thought he had leadership written all over him.

But whatever.

I'd never consider Chris Gayle a great batsman. He wouldn't have made the West Indian side of the 80's.

Well when people parrot on about him like he's a great he's simply not

David (PITA) Warner 49 tests 51 ave 16 hundreds and counting but rah rah Chris Gayle is da man

I try to go to to my local Mitre10 as much as possible, they are always friendly and gives good advice but Bunnings absolutely cannot be beaten, take that as a good or bad thing.

Woolworths main issue was they let Bunnings gain the monopoly, as soon as Bunnings started to gain traction they should have gone down the Masters road, not when Coles had the stranglehold.
I'll never forgive Bunnings for killing off my local hardware store. 5 minute drive from home, had everything I ever needed. Staffed by people who knew what they were talking about and were actually available to help. Delivered anything for about 10 bucks. Now I have a 40 minute round trip if I want anything and the people who work there are useless. Never anyone to be found - and if you're lucky enough to stumble across one they know nothing, say they'll go get someone to help and never seen again. And I hate those ****ing ads.

So he did something finally in umpteen matches let's worship him, he's all hollywood no substance always has been.

Let's look at the Test career of Mark Waugh.

128 Tests

Batting average of 41.81

20 Test centuries

Top score of 153 not out.

If ever a person with such a bloated reputation failed to deliver on potential and deserved the nickname "Hollywood" it's this man. Gayle is a veritable model of consistency by comparison.

Yea I'm not sure how he avoided the axe numerous times in his career

And in a side that completely dominated world cricket, where a batting average of 50 became par for the course.

Brian Lara was the best player of his generation. You can have your Tendulkar's and your Ponting's, Lara was the best of the bunch for mine. To perform at that ridiculous level while West Indian cricket crumbled around him was truly herculean.

Brian Lara cricket 96' and 99' was also best cricket.

I agree, Lara in god mode was a sight to behold

Every year I give the Oz open a chance but year after year the ****ing horrible commentary and terrible cross promotion seemingly gets worse. Middle finger salute to ch 7. Tennis isn't a good enough sport to watch for me to put up with that rubbish.

I can deal with the commentary unless its bruce or john newcombe or that irritating lady who commentates women's tennis and bangs on about their fashion and relationships while mentioning sharapovas routine 10000000x a match. The cross promotion, is unbearable though. **** its awful.
