WAS good.
Modern Family did some superb stuff but the kids grew up. Some of the cheekiest playing with taboos ever for a mainstream show (barring The Simpsons of course).

I'm just going to put this out there

I reckon I have seen every ep of Everybody Loves Raymond, many of them multiple times.

Its not bad.

Misread ya sorry mate.. Love thy Neighbour is cringeworthy I can't imagine how it was acceptable even back then.

I dismissed american sitcoms but i was talking more the Kings of Queens, Everybody Blows Raymond, Frasier, Friends through to 3rd rock & that geek one whatever it is garbage.
Yeah but that criticism is 30 years out of date now.

I can't agree with that, but I have probably watched the episode where Robert is dating the girl who eats a fly about 20 times.

Not bad? It's f*&*ng diabolical.

* Edit: except one episode where as a sports writer he was given 2 tickets to the Super Bowl and asks a mate along But per the traditions of 'I Love Lucy' comedy his wife hears about the tickets and wants to go because wherever it is she want to go shopping there. Of course once the premise that he can't tell her is set up there's the half hour. It was actually amusing.

It's like the episode of Just Shoot Me with David Cross as "Slow Donnie". A middling sitcom that turned out a masterpiece of an episode.

Everybody Loves Raymond is kind of like the Nickelback of sitcoms.

I mean if if Nickelback is on the radio I won't switch stations but I won't necessarily seek it out

Rules Of Engagement is the sitcom you get when Republicans try to make one.

I did like that show, a really good version of an old-fashioned style. Strong cast. Went about 4 series before it went to poo. My favourites if you knew the show were the 'Host a murder party' and the 'Gallo Sandwich' episodes. But yes David Cross played Donny twice I think.

Doesn't surprise me that Nickleback fans like Everybody Loves Raymond :rainbow:
