Anyone else's smoke alarms going off, potentially from the Adelaide humidity at the moment?
Mine went off last night but it was probably BBQ smoke wofting in from outside, **** this humidity shit I'd rather that clear 40 degree heat.

Decent thunderstorm for the southern suburbs, normally it's the northern suburbs that gets it.

Pretty decent in the CBD right now too.

I visited the cricket folder at work this morning, and stumbled across this from a Crows fan:

Surely this has to go down as another example of an Adelaide Sporting team (Summer months) choking big time in a Finals game?
Khawaja was brilliant, but the Strikers batsmen were definitely sub-par for the night:( Even Adil Rashid, our best bowler, seemed to change his bowling subtely from less flighty to more direct deliveries making him less effective:(

Thank God the Crows make and win Finals games or the whole sporting landscape in this city might be considered a national Sporting Joke of Cleveland, Ohio proportions!

Ours only goes off when Mum cooks a roast. We've smoked the shit outta the joint right under the smoke alarm aaaaand nothing. But Mum pops in the lamb roast and it's Def Con 4...

My entire office stopped and rushed to the windows to view the strange phenomenon of water falling from the sky...

I'm in the North East and it's been piss week so far. I need rain.

Wrong way of looking at it. This is showing that SACA is using the Oval for their real stuff - Test and One-Dayers, but finding alternate revenue sources rather than trying to bleed cricket in general to prop them up. It's a public lesson for the SANFL to go out and find alternate revenue events for the Oval when AFL games aren't playing, during their period of ownership, so they aren't bleeding the AFL clubs. Koch should be working this into some not so subtle digs at the SNAFL along these lines.

With the Strikers choking the SACA have lost out on another 50k crowd which would have been the 2nd of 3 over 6 Days (Aus v India on Australia Day). The Strikers have indeed created a massive and probably unexpected windfall for the SACA. (And for the first time since forever I actually get anything close to value from my SACA membership).

But, surprisingly, given the time of year and the weather, I still don't think the Strikers crowd sinks as much piss as a Port crowd does.

Mt barker was hettic
One of the loudest thunderstorms i can think of

Mark Waugh was possibly the most boring cricketer ever to play the game, and that's saying something.

One of my favourite sledges. Upon James Ormond’s arrival at the crease Mark Waugh said . “**** me, look who it is. Mate, what are you doing out here? There’s no way you’re good enough to play for England.”

Ormond replied: “Maybe not, but at least I’m the best player in my family.”
