Not entirely the point.

There was only one incident that was really bending the rules, the videotaping one, and they were punished sufficiently for it. It wasn't like it was a disgraceful Essendon tier breaking of the rules, it was barely even cheating. They didn't even break any actual rules, but it was unethical. Anyway, still hating them is just weird.

It's clear people are just way mad jealous.

Seriously? You really are sounding Essendon like.
The same team that campaigned for teams to always have their own balls, get caught. They get punished, they appeal on technicalities. They are also known for cheating in the past. Let's not even delve into the financial irregularities that were sheened over to avoid Melbourne Storm style mayhem.

Their success has come at the time they have twice been caught cheating they were hopeless before that, your emotional distance is there because you don't understand.

Brady is ****ing awesome, I love him as a player. The Patriots are still cheats.

I've played Gridiron since I was 12, even played for SA in my old age, love the game. I'm emotionally invested, but not in hating the Pats (I reserve that for the Packers).

This is me as a 15 year old with the all conquering Warriors.

I want to go for Tomic because he's Australian and playing Murray, but the guy is so shit it makes it hard to barrack for him.

More lack of effort than talent. It's really noticeable when you compare him to Murray who gets to every ball.

.... it's like when i first loaded up netscape navigator in the library in 1995
I fired up our brand new home PC in 1991, Internet Explorer on a DOS 6 operating system. In the days when search engines were little better than looking out the window we had no idea what site to go to for our very first internet surf. Then I remembered some of our groceries had URLs on them and the first one I found was a can of Golden Circle pineapple. Mrs Powerstufff and I stood amazed as our dial-up modem slowly loaded up the range of Golden Circle products then available, hoping no one rang* us as it would have broken the data stream.

* I don't say 'on our landline', there was no other option for the ordinary Aussie then.

As a Raiders fan, sometimes the only joy you can get from the playoffs is shadenfreude, so for those who know me and my Raiders would know this mornings game was a win - win.

We will be good again, o yes when DR Dre buys the club and pumps in 1/2 a bill and sends us back to LA...... O yes we will be......

The LA boat has definitely sailed.
There needs to be 2 teams in North Calif. anyway.

I really loved red dwarf at the time, so landing on someone's poorly put together fansite (with a few screenshots and episode summaries) was absolutely, mind-blowingly amazing.

also found out they were making a series 7 (what a huge mistake that was)

that dial up modem screech will be embedded in my memory forever. and online gaming when a 200 ping was pretty quick, then you ended up against someone with a T1 connection at a uni. goddamn lpbs (low ping bastards)

Must admit the closest I've ever got to supporting hard a foreign team, in a foreign country, in a foreign league was watching Bird's Celtics against Kareem's and Magic's Lakers played on a Sunday morning in the early 80's. Lived in London for a couple in the latish 90s, went to many an EPL game and probably half a dozen QPR games, but never really felt it.

It does amaze me how many get quite fanatical about teams they've only seen on TV and have virtually no connection to.

Was there ever a show that started so well and ended so badly? Perhaps Lost in Space? The space thing being coincidental.

Even the idea of pinging to assess data transfer speeds, because it was of course prudent and tech savvy. And you got to type DOS commands doing it which made you feel like an IT professional. Damn you Malcom Turnbull for selling your soul and committing to developing only an Ikea-level broadband infrastructure.

I'm in the mood for morose piano music and contemplating all my failures :)
