I literally cried when the Bulls beat the Utah Jazz for a 2nd time in the row in the NBA Finals in 1998. That final game was just cruel. I was 10 years old at the time and quite fanatical about basketball. I worshipped John Stockton. Actually I still do. He remains my favourite basketball player ever. Karl Malone and Jeff Hornacek come right after.

I was 10 years old at the time and quite fanatical about basketball. I worshipped John Stockton. Actually I still do. He remains my favourite basketball player ever. Stockton Malone combo was phenomenal....

Too bad it was at a time where possibly the best combo in nba history was playing...jordan and pippen

Exactly. Any other time and Stockton/Malone probably would have a ring.
I still follow the Jazz but I wonder if they'll ever have a team as good as that one. These days we're happy if we just make it to the playoffs

How big is the NBL, in terms of audience? I know Adelaide has a team. Australia are usually a good team so I wonder about the quality of the league

I thought the jazz really faded away on their after Malone and Stockton...they really did carry that whole team

Battlezone with the 'wire-frame' tank was the arcade game for me. Wasted a few dollars in Downtown in the day.

Pretty decent. Basketball would just maybe sneak into to the top 10 team sports in Australia. Definitely a niche sport but given our population does pretty well.
