The initial reaction drew criticism, that the decision, ratified by the Commission on October 4, was withheld for five weeks when a letter was received by clubs.

However the AFL offered an olive branch to other clubs. The League at a meeting of club general managers on November 12 agreed to fully fund salary-cap increases of $300,000 for the next two years. Previously the AFL had considered subsidising the clubs to only 85 per cent of the $300,000.

I hated Friends being a staunch Seinfeld man but I could see how it had it's niche, although it's comedy has aged terribly. These new situation comedies have no substance whatsoever.

I like Friends and Seinfeld, I wasn't aware of any split in followings?

I like Happy Endings as a more bizarre, undramatic Friends-clone than HIMYM.

Of other current sitcoms:
* I've loved Parks and Rec but I think it has peaked.
* Workaholics is amazing for its thorough Gen Y understanding.
* The League is a good show for mid-30s nerds.
* Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia is getting a bit hairy, but for pure depravity humour its still great value.
* The Office (US) is kind of shit again.
* 2 Broke Girls I watch, its a very uncomplicated show that is good for the background while you do something else.
* 30 Rock turned to shit after Jack's homosexual escapade with the republicans.
* Bored to Death is a high-class stoner comedy, I do like it quite a bit.

Thats my watchlist. Shows like Whitney and Up All Night make me ill.
