Brownless splitting from his wife may have been caused by her sleeping with Lyon and Billy only learning about it now.

I don't feel sorry for Gary Lyon. He took any opportunity to shit on others, with no consideration for them.
I can't help but feel this story of his mental illness is a cover for what's really going on. But if it is true that he does have mental issues then hope he recovers.

By the sounds of it (from the Internet), she ended it with him, he didn't see it coming and its pretty fresh. Also it could have been more than "banging", like a relationship which some would say is even worse.

Regardless of whether he deserved it, it is a massive deception by those closest to him. Not to mention the public humiliation.

On the bright side, at least it wasn't the daughter rumor.

What I do know is Gary Lyon's a shitweasel and this latest PR trend of labelling every demeanour-related career break "mental illness" is disgusting and insulting to those with genuine mental issues.

That's not what it's about. An ex can go bang who she or he wants, I don't think I've seen any response in this thread saying an ex is 'owned'. It's 100% about going after a mates ex. Or potentially much worse when not an ex. As a mate your friends partners are like your sister/brother. No mate would go there whilst they are together and if, of all the billions out there you Have to try to hook up with a mates ex you leave a decent amount of time and inform the mate of your interest.

tl;dr - the ex is fine, Lyon is the dick.

Yeah this trend amongst celebrities / athletes to have mental illness coincidentally line up with an instance of shit behaviour going public is the most sordid part of the tale. I'm sure some are real, but I doubt I'm the only one here whose seen (or suffered) a family member suffer genuine mental illness who can't help but get enraged that this trend only makes it harder for those in need of genuine help to seek it out and to get understanding from Joe and Jane Public if/when they reveal it.

• I like what Marvel have done with tying in The Avengers with Iron Man, Captain America and Thor movies.
• I can't believe they are persisting with Fantastic Four since it's awful.
• I couldn't care less about another Spiderman. Another reboot? come on.
• Reboots of superhero movies are the problem, they just keep trying!
• The two films that stand out for me are Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool. I think the main reason is because they are both so different to the others.

Special mention to Robert Downey Jr, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds. Matched absolutely perfectly with their characters. Once they stop then the characters should stop as well.

Mmmm. So there's a few things I want to say about this.

1. Every AFL person that has cited mental illness has been harangued for it.
Chris Tarrant, Nathan Thompson, Cam McCarthy - the view of `mental illness' as a copout is so pervasive that it is impossible to use as a reason with copping shit from the general public for it. The only thing close to acceptance of this would be Phil Walsh's son after the event, because his action was so drastic you couldn't deny he was unwell.

2. Pretty much everyone would prefer any gaps in their CV explained by just about anything else than `mental illness'
"I left my last job because I fell in love with my co-host's ex" is about a million times less damaging to a career than "For a long time I've been spiralling downwards and had to take time out to work through my depression", and thats in any industry. Being a philanderer doesn't have to affect your work, but mental illness can mean Workcover claims, and a million other negative perceptions that probably aren't true.

3. For much the same reasons as claiming rape accusers are making it up being damaging, questioning/disbelieving people that state that they are suffering from mental health issues is going to take down ten times as many genuine suffers as there are imposters - who genuinely `fakes' mental illness?

I am absolutely ready to believe Garry Lyon could have some form of mental health issues, he's always been a bit of a downer as a persona IMO. Yes, he can still go and eat a satchel of units for what he has said about Port, but if he says he's dealing with mental health issues, I absolutely believe it.

If you want to help out people with mental health issues, and improve the acceptance of them by society, the way you do that is by believing it when people speak about them, not doubt them as the default.

The only successful aquaman movie was fictional one in Entourage, directed by fictional James Cameron.
