Maybe, but think of it this way.

We rag on the Port Power facebook fans that scream for their David Rodin and Matty Thomas in a teal guernsey that they'll never buy and wear their kmart merchandise instead and we act like, even believe, we're better football and Port people than them. Perhaps the same applies for all things in life? Like movies for instance?

I associate with a shit tonne of people and most of them don't carry on like a two bob watch about whatever movies and shows they like. You wouldn't even know half of them play DnD.

They're the Essendon of the Premier League. They are the greatest club and have all the greatest players.

They fluke a 2nd place on the back of the greatest striker in the world using them as a stepping stone, in an era where 7th is a par finish for them, and have the temerity to have a crack at Tottenham for being an irrelevant club.

In any other league they'd have the worst fans, but Arsenal fans have developed a lack of graciousness over the past few years that can probably only be effectively remedied by Tottenham winning the league.

I'm in the midst of pre-production of my latest amateur grade flick. It is possibly all this time spent conceptualising and being uber critical of myself has resulted in an uber critical state of mind towards other things of media as a side effect. I'm going to defend my Port Power facebook fan attitude analogy to the hilt though.
