Hahaha, Jesus.

Your argument is literally "when we sign players they say nice things about us"
Obviously I wasn't being serious

Liverpool are clearly better than Tottenham. You're just biased against Liverpool like pretty much every oppo supporter. Tottenham are inoffensive compared to Liverpool. Probably because they don't win ever.

As expected, royal commission says nuclear power is not commercially viable a.k.a the government won't shell out for it. Happy to recommend we be a nuclear dump though!

This state misses it's chance again.

The royal commission points out that it's not commercially viable, but it also recommends that it be looked in to as part of low carbon energy generation. The relatively low electricity consumption in SA paired with our limited ability to export excess generation capacity was always going to be a big hurdle for nuclear in a purely commercial sense. I certainly wouldn't rule out the possibility of it being part of Australia's generation mix in the future.

The good news for everyone else is that United look like they're in for a shit sandwich in the near future. Hopefully Mourinho continues to lose his touch when he links up with them next season. That's my ultimate fantasy sports double-melt.

The "being delusional" part of supporting the glorious reds is probably the greatest part. Ambition is awesome. I'm so glad my club isn't some shit bottom feeder who have been clinging on for years and will finally go down this season.
Yeah right, because people support Liverpool because they have a deep connection to the city....nothing to do with their glory days at all.....no sirey!

Biggest bunch of glory grabbing w***er supporters in world sport! Though Chelsea and Arsenal fans are starting to match them.

Dunno how that has anything to do with what I said.

But how great are those people who latch onto shit Premier League teams just so they can boast about how they don't bandwagon. You can't win as a supporter of a foreign league or sport.

I appreciate that you have a connection to your club. Good for you.

Villa m8

Newcastle at least have a crack every now and then. That time when Cisse was belting them in from everywhere and top 4 looked probable was pretty enjoyable. I just wish we'd stop dropping points to you. Also the signing of Shelvey improves my view of the 'pies.

Sunderland can go do one and go down already.
Your knowledge of football is deeply flawed.

Spurs are the Richmond of football. The traditional Big 5 (before it became a financial game).
Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton and Arsenal.

Villa would have made the Big 6.

Still a better reason than ' I want to win a lot' tbh.

Explains why I can't stand them! Where do Everton sit in that "I only abide by the dynamics of 80s soccer" chart?

My fear is that United become as irrelevant as Liverpool and become a mid table team clinging to past glories with the odd spike in form that snares us 2nd place and makes us dare to dream of being something again.

Then we sell the one player that got us there.

Or something like that.

I pretty much selected Liverpool because I was introduced to soccer by my older brother's best mate, who was a United supporter (via family) with a distaste for Liverpool. So, my brother adopted his views and naturally I went in the opposite direction.

The opposite direction is City (inter city rivalry) or Leeds (war of the roses), but as they were shit then I guess a manufactured premiership rivalry about as genuine as Lions v Suns would have to do.

The opposite of supporting United/hating Liverpool. But OK. I didn't understand the dynamics of the British game when I was ****ing 6.

I don't know, where do they sit on the 'plastic premiership money is all that counts ignore 100 years of history chart?'.

So 6 years ago?

See what I did there!

Well, you've had time to educate yourself and you still chose a bunch of campaigners.

edit: you may know that soccer discussions are far harsher than footy discussions Dylan, I'm just giving you a taste :).

Spurs winning the title would be awful. The only way I'd have ever stomached it is if that lovely Villas-Boas fella was at the helm.
I remember being pretty disappointed at copping Brodge at the time when we were equally linked to the sexier option of Villas-Boas. Then as it happened, Brodge's Liverpool got him sacked after a 0-5 win at WHL. Jon Flannagan sunk AVB.

Does anyone ever pick a struggling team for their feigned interest in english soccer?

Go Millwall Go

Surely it would make more sense to pick a team in the lower leagues and enjoy their meteoric rise. They needs the fans etc. Just like support St. Pauli, it would have social cache.

I chose Newcastle because Tribey talked me into it. Then I discovered who Mike Ashley is. Oh well, I already have Dolan's Knicks in my life so what the hell
