Avoid the Port Arthur Police Training Video the crime scene vision in and outside of the cafe stays with ya man.. freakin' brutal

You know I couldn't read this post and NOT go watch the video. I've seen similar/worse, but what I can't stop thinking about is the efficiency, how he managed to kill so many people in the cafe without causing panic and people getting away. The ladies behind the counter, the people sitting at the tables. It's unfathomable.

I know what you mean I have this horrible compulsion to see things I know will disturb me

Like Janus said I think he was just a psycho with "good" luck in terms of accuracy, it's an unfathomable situation & people are just as likely to freeze in fear as much as making a run for it I imagine.

And that's just it.

How many people say "this is what I would do...." you don't know until it happens what you will do.

I've been in close proximity to three unexpected deaths, one an accident, one a murder and a one just sort of happened.

Reacted completely different each time as you would expect.

You can smell fear you know.

Yea the "this is what I'd do" nonsense belongs in Chuck Norris movies for the most part

It'd take time to compute the enormity of the situation let alone react I'd imagine.

You might surprise yourself my rabble loving brother.

That whole flight or fight thing is completely true.

You know what?

I wish I had missed all three despite peoples commendations on my actions in two of them.

John Kennedy had his words pretty right with the "don't think, do" mantra. When it happens you don't think because instinct is quicker than thought and I guess that is what he was saying.

As with that mad bastard Brevik, who shot 69 people in Norway. The difference with him I suppose is that he was more calculated and cunning, whereas Bryant was portrayed as a childlike imbecile.

Watched a doco recently detailing the police response to Brevik.
What a (tragic) comedy of errors.

This. He was essentially Colin Firth in Kingsman (church scene). All in real time, no CGI, scripts, run-throughs or do-overs.

The probability of him achieving such effiency in such a small space of time is minuscule, but not impossible, so I'm inclined to accept the official version of events. But I can understand why others haven't.

There were puzzling parts to it all that fed conspiracy theories, whether fact based or not, the first I remember was the rifle that was allegedly a confiscated weapon held in a Victorian country police station a few weeks before the tragedy

Is EPL a) no where near as good B) not as good C) as good d) better than it was in the 90s?

Same question applies to NBA.
Not even close to as good.

NBA is better. Small market teams have a chance these days with internet coverage basically cancelling out a lot of the advantages the big market teams had in the past.
Some great players /teams as well that are on a level with a lot of the great teams of the past.
Durant/Westbrook at OKC
Curry at GSW
Lebron at Cleveland
Davis at the Pelies
The SPurs
I'd like to include Harden and my Rox but, you know.

People will talk about Jordan obvs in the 90s, the guy will never be thought of anything less than the greatest. Kemp/Payton and the sonics, Malone and Stockton, Hakeem and Clyde. Some great pairings and teams but maybe some rose tinted glasses gets applied to the era as it is when we sort of got into it in Australia

The United team of the 90s was amazing. Is always hard to compare decades..but the 93 United team was something else. The 99team that won the treble was incredible as well, but early 90s United was handicapped in Europe by the foreign player rule.
