Downhill or road? Sounds nasty if you've been in for that long.

Road. Riding down Anstey's Hill, came off, flew head and face first, cracked my spine (not my spinal cord), had a bleed on the brain, was found on the side of the road not breathing by a CFS guy who was driving behind me and gave me first aid until the ambulances arrived. So yeah, I'm pretty lucky to even be here, let alone recovering as well and as quickly as I am. I miss my dog so bad.

heck! Wondered why you hadn't been posting. Hope you recover quickly.

I've had to really pull back on my off-road riding after a big spill last year knocked me about a bit. Nothing like what you've described but enough to remind me I'm no longer the young invincible I used to be.

Edit: genuine lol at the word filter.

No one's invincible, no matter how old. This was a massive wake up call for me. I'll be back on the bike as soon as I'm given the all clear but I won't be bombing down hills the way I did. You don't win any medals for strava times. And smashing downhills isn't the reason I do it anyway. I'm so lucky and I need to remember that. I'll get to ride a bike again. Most of the people in this place have great difficulty walking or even stringing a sentence together.

Talk about 1 step forward, a get really a get steps back

Thank goodness I missed that, and what kind of 25 year old wears glasses on a string??
thanks to Tex glad wrap around your head creates humidity and condensation droplets, water problem solved...bought to you by the Texan, AFC and GLAD products

I hope you were sober, if not the world will look down on you :rainbow:

Shit finny, you silly bugga  You bloody nong. Make sure you recover quickly and then learn from that one. This board is way crap without you here, as is your family. I'm lost for words on that one, you've cracked silliness to the enth degree. I never thought you were somewhat of a risk taker in any way. Not that thats good or bad, but you've learnt one of lifes lessons :)

Honestly, all things considered I'm in good shape. The recuperative abilities of a healthy body are incredible. I'll make a full and complete recovery. At round one just look for the guy wearing a neck brace.

I've been in hospital/rehab for the past 2 weeks following an accident. I am absolutely bored shitless and going out of my mind here. If it wasn't for free to air tv helping me pass the miserable time in here I don't know what I'd do or how I'd cope. Seriously, it's not all that bad.
Get into 9 life you will love it.
Missus got to take home a full bottle of oxycoatin, and my brother was allowed to self administer morphine. Top work RAH.
What does she want for the bottle

Was at the RAH and that tv/internet thing was great. Now I'm in Hampstead, where they don't even supply tv's (you have to BYO) for some rehab prior to heading home. I still had 6 days worth of credit on that RAH Foxtel thingy when I left.
I herd about you, just past the water treatment plant!

Rest up mate hope you recover , cfs are god sent.

Look, I'm sure she isn't one. And this is just an unfortunate aerosol coincidence. Then again...

Geez, I would have been concerned going flat strap down Anstey's as an invincible kid, back when you were lucky to see a car going down there, let alone now. Get well man

You heard about the crash? I've ridden up that hill heaps of times but never down, so was descending a little bit blind......and it was starting to get dark. I can't even remember the spot where I went off the road. But the water treatment plant sounds about right. That guy basically saved my life. Gonna give him a call whe I get outta here.

Have clients up there. Everybody's a bit spooked at the moment as everything pretty much revolves around Arrium.

If you are violently inclined, I mean if you are capable of sadistically murdering a group of people in cold blood, and then blaming it on the 'nobody loves me' clause, then I don't think society can do all that much other than incarceration. We can not see into the future, I mean there are a lot of lonely people out there...who do we judge as potential murderers?

I am not here to judge...and I am not saying that they don't deserve to be incarcerated, quite the opposite IMO, should be given the death penalty.

Its not about looking out for lonely people to see if they're potential murderers because everyone is, its about accepting these out casts making them feel included, wanted and important. So with Bryant, if had been given those needs at a earlier stage by school mates, friends perhaps maybe those 35 lives could have been avoided is all I am saying.
