They haven't won the league since the Wall Street crash, but believe they are a big club because they have great attendances. It has built a sense of entitlement that prevents them doing better.

That's exactly the perception I'm talking about. The fans don't expect to be winning the champions league, but a few solid mid-table finishes as part of building a foundation towards further improvement wouldn't go astray.

In no universe should a club of Newcastle's stature have hired Joe ****ing Kinnear, for instance. Now we've got Steve McClaren who struggled to manage Forest and Derby in the Championship last time out.

It may not be your attitude but the entitlement is certainly the attitude of lots of Newcastle fans, this is made worse by them being the big fish in the North East pond.

By and large they're nuts, but I'm not talking about the handfuls of shirtless chavbellies who mill about outside SJP singing 'sack the board' after a scoredraw with the Harlem Globetrotters.

If the Rafael Benitez rumours are true he'd be the perfect fit for a proper restructure of the club and an actual blueprint for the future. A transfer kitty and wagebill with autonomy to spend it as he sees fit would be a good start.

And...it is done. No explosions...yet. Only some odd, "we removed this GTA San Andreas save mod because it is not compatible with this version of Windows" Strange as I haven't played that game for years. Even stranger...why was it recognised as existing on start up out of all the countless dormant programs and apps I have scattered across my 5 terabytes of internal storage? I wonder why the many malware and PUP scans I've over the course never picked it up. There were only two other applications removed...so far

The company I work for paid some consultants mega bucks to come up with some "core values" posters. We now have posters all over the place with these grammatically incorrect and meaningless "slogans" that look like some 12 year old created them with a buzz word generator.
