Worst hangover, and probably the worst I've behaved when drunk, was after a mate's pub crawl for his b'day, we get back to his for some wind down drinks, and I crack in to the break in case of emergency supplies. The goon. I drink the whole 5L cask dry. I was then told I attempted to fight my best mate, broke the toilet, and when I was leaving, I was offered a ride for the 4 block walk to which I replied "No thanks, you've had a bit to drink and that doesn't seem appropriate".

Never goon again.

Years ago, late 80's or early 90's against my better judgement a mate dragged me to The Australian Doors Show at the Tivoli back there in Radelaide. We had been on the booze most of the day and then caught up with a mate who had brought along an old school (probably still current then) 600ml glass pint milk bottle full of home made sambucca for each of us. Needless to say we imbibed. I remember bumping into a chick I really quite fancied and chatting away before the band started and then that ****ing sacrilegious sambucca kicked in.

Woke up next morning and had something nestled under my arm nudging against the underside of my jaw. Started thinking "**** brain work... what happened last night..." I'm thinking the object is human but who? After thinking for ages what the **** happened and remembering the last person I spoke to was not hot chick but her awesome but very large and very unattractive friend It was time to open my eyes. I shit you not I was looking down at a metal bracket with two street signs attached "King William Street" and "Rundle Mall".

First thought was relief second thought was "how the ****?"

I still don't know as the people I was with that night said I disappeared.

Never saw hot chick again either.

The peanuts are just the base salary. The allowances and perks are cashews and pecans.

Even still.

Time away from family + public scrutiny + annoying public

Financial rewards are low.

Yeah, lawyers and the like don't get involved in politics for the money but if you look at the backgrounds of a lot of our politicians a large number would be not be pulling anywhere near that sort of coin if they had to get real jobs.

You also have to take into account the very generous retirement benefits they get, or used to get. Eight years in federal parliament and they used to get 50% of their parliamentary salary, indexed to inflation, for life.

Look at poor Bill O'Chee. Appointed to the senate, not elected, in 1990 at the age of 24. Lost his seat in 1998 and his term expired in June 1999 at which time he started collecting his parliamentary pension at the ripe old age of 34.

So if I was going to get rid of Foxtel and add a streaming service, what is the best do we think? From a bit of a looksy it seems that Netflix is quite popular, and as I am with iinet it should be unmetered which is probably a bonus?

All valid points.

A "friend" of mine was recently offered a "safe" senate seat with the Libs. I reckon he/she thought about it for about 3 seconds before saying.

**** no.

I would do the same.

That's dangerous. People have died like that.

blog

How the hell did he ever get those jeans on.

Worst hangover ive ever had was on absinthe. Only time drinking where i cant recall actually getting home

I get the blackouts on Absinthe but no hangover. Not sure why.

Had some after one of our games last year at a place called La Buvette on Gresham Street.

Me too.

Netflix the only one worth getting at present, the interfaces for the others are shitful and slow

Yeh, just accessing an app on the smart tv seems easier than some of the stuff I read on Stan I think...needing Apple Air or something (I did skim so may not be exactly the method).

I'm not too sure about smart tv apps but the web interfaces for both Stan and Netflix are nearly identical, Presto is a big steaming pile of poo though.

*disclaimer... or at least were the last time i used them.

Netflix gets old fast.

As in you run out of things to watch? Kind of like foxtel then. The only reason I have Foxtel still is the Premier League (which is done after this season), the Football (I can see the away games on FTA I assume, and go to all the home games), and the NFL which is a short lived season anyway.
Got a free month of Netflix anyway to test it out. Is unmetered with iinet which is good.

Ironically Foxtel just emailed me with 2 weeks free Foxtel Go...which I already have anyway? Cheers Foxtel.
