I'd love to try the Civ games but its really unintiutive for a new comer.

XCOM2 had a lot of that alerts, missions, upgrades, blackmarket messages popping up constantly it was just all at once, I got through it but damn some games need a guy just screaming "Dont enable every menu and option straight away"

civ is a ****ing classic. dumped hundreds of hours into civ 5/brave new world. many 3am nights

I didn't say it wasn't a classic, I just have trouble getting past the initial hurdle for a new player.

i tried the ww2 campaign/mod thing in civ 5. now there's something tricky to get into. i think civ 5 is reasonably forgiving, providing you start on one of the easier difficulties. that way yo ucan just do your own thing and not worry about getting destroyed by the middle ages.

I had that two years ago on Windows Phone 8.1 (yeah, I apologise). Exact same thing.

I didn't say it wasn't a classic, I just have trouble getting past the initial hurdle for a new player.

Focus on the first 50 or 60 turns, tech order, build order and citizen management. Watch, play 100 turns and resign, watch, refine, play on a higher difficulty, repeat. Don't worry about mods or scenarios to start with. In no time you'll be kicking ass on Immortal. The next step is much harder. I've been playing/testing his balance mod a bit recently which is full on and still haven't beaten the highest level, but few have. It's a game that's worth putting the time into.

85% Absinthe does a job, but still not as well as 79% Bundy.

Bit disappointing when I invite some blokes back to have some drinks in the car and they politely decline.
