Indeed, but remember the targets were still a 10 year old child and his (admittedly buffed up) mum. The big bloke in this case served as the protector, the guardian.

Also Robert Patrick ****ing nailed it, was perfect.

I dunno, when you're properly kitted out in cold weather gear its fine IMO. Better than rain because you've got a chance to wipe it off before you get sodden.

Wasn't much of it around in Darwin or Brisbane for that matter.

I haven't avoided it just haven't encountered it.

Where is good and relatively cheap for a family cabin? Not really interested in skiing, but more a relaxing holiday with some tobogganing type activities.

Baw Baw in Victoria is pretty low key. Not the best snow so it doesn't get swamped by skiers/boarders but it's the closest one to Melbourne so can get busy on weekends.

If you want to see the best alpine scenery in Australia, head to Jindabyne/Perisher on Mt "Kozzie Ossco".

If you're really adventurous, I can highly recommend Niseko in Japan. Incredible powder snow and not as expensive as you'd think.
