TMB was almost too much, an assault on the sense, but it was something of a step in the right direction with a real IDGAF attitude at times.

When the cornerstones of your story are paedophilia and incest you can't exactly placate offended sensibilities with the usual Bert Schneider fameo

The themes don't bother me at all, a good laugh. It was more the trying to fire off a joke every 4 seconds hey look here's another 80s song that will only play for 7 seconds before it gets cut off.

It worked for Cold Case. Replace jokes with grisly murders.

It's 30 degrees, the bus is crowded, and the driver has decided the air-conditioner isn't warranted. I can't wait to get my drivers license back.

Personally I find the use of "visit" by the ABC a bit disrespectful. It makes it sound as if the Japanese subs in WWII just dropped in for a cup of tea. It was a raid. More than 20 people died.

Yeah, but don't forget how "skilled and honourable" those Japanese submariners were.

I don't agree with Tony Abbott making those statements but it was war and in the scheme of things the mini-sub raid on Sydney was no less honourable than the fire bombing of Tokyo. The mini-subs were actually targeting naval ships.

Or are you saying that this is an attempt to downplay what happened for diplomatic purposes, ie we don't want to pay too much for new subs?

You've made some fair points.

There's not much honour in war and there's not much honour in politicians trying to whitewash events for their own expedient purposes.

As for the ABC story, I doubt that it's a deliberate attempt to downplay things. I just think that most journos these days have a poor command of the English language.

Whilst Malcom has been getting very excited about Port, Footy and China has anyone noticed this bloke is in charge of the country? God help us is a crisis hits our shores.

I did consider this yesterday but with all the good news abounding I didn't want to harsh anyone's buzz.

But still…

I really liked F is for Family. Different gravy m8. Sam Rockwell was a delight.

I think it was you that put me onto that via this thread.
Very funny and such great characterisation.

You had me with Bill Burr, but lost me at 'That's My Boy' being a top 3 Sandler flick...

His top 3 are obviously his holy trinity of Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison and The Waterboy.

Then below them you've got The Wedding Singer, Big Daddy, Mr Deeds, Punch Drunk Love, Anger Management, Reign Over Me, Funny People and I don't even mind 50 First Dates. The rest though, just pure ass.

I like all three Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison and The Waterboy.

But I don't even have them as my top 3. They're 4 - 6.

1. Airheads
2. The Wedding Singer
3. That's My Boy
4. The Waterboy
5. Billy Madison
6. Happy Gilmore

I like HG a lot, but I've never understood the undying love for it as if it was the Caddyshack of the 90s.

I love HG a lot, definitely up there, would almost say its his best but Billy Madison easily takes that spot.

The movie is just the epitome of his screwball man-child schtick of the '90s.

War..... War never changes.

on a scale of 1-10, i'm at about a 10 for how much I feel like that quote should disappear from Fallout. They've over used it big time.

Vic_Vinegar you bastard I've been tossing up whether to change my BF name to that for weeks
I couldn't decide on Vic Vinegar or Hugh Honey, but "Vic Vinegar, bodyguard. I don't shake hands so don't even try" got it over the line.
