Thank you for strengthening my resolve to never go to a gym.

My grandmother died this morning. She was 96 years old.

I don't want people to offer their condolences, I just want to share something.

From when I was a little boy I remember she and my pop were mad Magpies supporters.

She bought me my first wool magpies top when I was about 6. She knitted me a Port scarfe. I'd run around the backyard at her house pretending I was Delaney.

Right up until the last few weeks she would watch the Power play and would ask me if I watched it.

She told me stories about how, many decades ago her and a young Fos Williams would ride their bikes together and stop and do whatever kids did back in those days. She always loved Fos. I was always going to support Port.

She never asked anyone for anything, and she was always there for me. I miss her dearly

The Port Adelaide family lost a special woman today.

I would not even recognise it as such. I cannot imagine why someone would take one to a gym. I only have a half-formed idea of what one would be used for and have no interest in being better informed on this. I'm glad I grew up when I did.

My respects to your grandmother. From what you say it sounds like a life well lived. Not necessarily the Port stuff though that's cool. But also but the continued interest in her world and her family. I'll raise a (plastic) glass to Nanna PeacefulWarrior at AO next week.
