To be fair it is improving year by year imo.

The only bad thing that you can't really change is that it's a feeder competition. All the good players that come out of the A-Leauge usually always end up in Europe or some bigger league.

So it's exactly like div 10 South?

The Wanderers would have brought a few, Adelaide Oval itself would have brought a few but to say 40% is a ridiculous guestamation.

And so because your facebox feed had a heap of shit on it 20k or more were casual observers?

And Boak is rooting everyones chick cos thats what face box says.
It is so vanilla that I can't even be bothered arguing my losing point.

The A-League is the div 10 south of the amateur league of the football world.

Wanderers wouldn't have been able to win the Asiatic Championship Concern if it was that bad.

Somewhere between League One and League Two overall, probably.

Great win for Adelaide United today. Some cracking goals too.

I know they aren't popular here due to Griffen et al, but they're the only local representation for football in SA. It's possible to follow the team but hate the board...in fact most of us have probably been there with Port.
Said many ex Port turned Crows fans 1991-1997. ;)

Which is all well and good but there is no real Port equivalent.

It's a new league. There's no traditional clubs with any longstanding support. The NSL was poorly run and needed to go. It does represent a chance for the game to grow and to build a strong national competition though.

Had a free ticket to the granny today. But I just can't feign interest in the A-League anymore. So I went to see the Unley disaster instead.

Did feel for the half-cut Reds fan on the train home. He went up and down the carriage singing "A-U-F-C! Sha-la-la, la-la-la, la-la!" trying to get everyone involved. Everyone left him hanging. Poor bastard.

Didn't give up, though. Eventually, a few other United fans joined in. Not even sure how the hell they made the train anyway.

They all should've still been at Adelaide Oval celebrating the big win...

Probably all deeply concerned about the premiership bumper sticker manufacturing industry.

"Can they make them still shine bright after 18 years these days Doreen?"

There's only one Stevie Maxwell (sung)

I shit you not I used to go and watch them play with his brother Peter.

Big Pete was a bouncer at Jules and other notable Adelaide nightclubs.

Went to the GF tonight, had a free ticket. The sport is boring as bat shit. However crowd invovlement is unreal.

And to those piece of shit wanderers supporters disrespecting our nation's anthem piss off out of the country. Who chants over the top of your own countries anthem?

So, just I just watched Terminator: Genesis

I liked it, right up until the story plot ending.

Seriously when the f*** is John Connor going to destroy Skynet

I am so over it now but invested too much time following the movies, I just need a f***ing conclusion

I don't want to see another cgi young Arnie.

I think the planned sequels were cancelled, so John won't be finishing the job any time soon.

I knew it, they should have just Matrixed it and be done with it.

Oh well I am going to just pretend it ended at Terminator 2 with James Cameron's alternate ending, which actually closed the f***ing time loop

Cause the NZ Knights, North Queensland Fury and Gold Coast United were the shit.

NSL wasn't that bad. It suffered from overreach at a time when Soccer Australia didn't have a pot to piss in, but the bad press surrounding it was largely xenophobia-driven.

There are just as many if not more wannabe ultras from all ethnic backgrounds who support dinky-di dewogified tilts such as the Victory and Wanderers as there were supporting easy targets such as South Melbourne Hellas and Melbourne Croatia 20 years ago.

I'm not saying the A league has been some kind of brilliant masterstroke - there's been plenty of mistakes. But I believe a new start was needed.

There's been decent growth in attendances and viewers since, too. 50,000 to a domestic final in Adelaide is impressive, regardless of the blow in factor.

During the NSL years many clubs were run with a boys club type mentality. You needed to know someone to get in the door. I know of examples of young players who were easily good enough to make it, but didn't even get a look in. Now, I know that hasn't completely changed, but I think the league is becoming more professional and we'll see better recruitment and development from that.

Essentially all I want is to see the game grow and develop as it should in Australia, and I see more chance of that happening under the current set up.
