The bible isn't the easiest book to follow. The reoccurrence of the same name (referring to different people) can be misleading for starters. I've had several cracks at it but spend a lot of time doing historical research based on what I've read then consequently spending more time reading that history. Unlike legends like REH I can't remember every detail I've read (I blame thousands of head contacts with wet soccer balls etc. but it could be the drugs) and often need to re-read.

Suffice to say, as I recall the first bible family met other families not mentioned as having been created by Yahweh in the Garden of Eden so I take it that 'he' only created Jews and another deity was responsible for all the pagan riff raff.

But I could be wrong.

Anyway read Genesis. It's one of the simpler books of the Old Testament.

I'm basically atheist BTW.

The most ridiculous thing I have read about this BREXIT vote is that it is a triumph for democracy. What, 52% of a turnout of just over 12 million in a country which has a population of over 64 million, meaning the voting population is about 43 million?.

Well actually if you want to go down the Jewish Kabbalistic tradition, Cain married the first woman created, who wasn't Eve, but Lilith. The story goes that she was created from dust the same way that Adam was, and as such wouldn't submit to him (read - have sex with him) just because he was the only man on the planet. So god ****ed her off into the land of fugitiveness outside the Garden of Eden to wait for someone else who she would do the horizontal tango with, made Eve from Adam so she was basically a part of him anyway and the rest is history or a nice story depending on your viewpoint.

Of course, then Eve didn't like the whole arrangement any way because she was all "Yeah, I'd rather take my chances with this talking snake than Adam's trouser snake"...so you have to wonder if the guy was just a misogynistic jerk and that's why Lilith was like "Nope." He did blame Eve for his own **** ups, after all.

Now, why you'd want to enter into an archaic tradition that is based on indentured servitude - I'll have sex with you and raise your children in return for food, clothing and shelter - has me baffled, but if it floats your boat, go for it.

It's pretty common for conservatives to discount the vote of the young as self interested and shallow and therefore meaningless, but it's bullshit, isn't it?

Everyone votes with their own interests at heart and young people have far more interest in a long term strong and stable economy as they transition into working full time than old people, who are just as likely to want to travel in their retirement.

It is the losers discounting the winners reasons as selfish, I was using one example where you could label the remain selfish for wanting to stay for a selfish reason which is visa free travel for summer holidays. If the younger ones gave a shit they would have turned up so basically the losers are saying you screwed the younger generation where in reality tou could argue the majority of them didnt care either way.

All the youth today have is homogenised and pasteurised thinking. That's why people get so offended if you have a contrarian view. "You can't say that!" Well, open your ears, because I just did.

They allow gay marriage and act far more strongly on climate change. Those two are pretty pass fail for any country who even wants to pretend to be progressive.

These decisions dont make them less socially conservative, the majority of the population rejects them, good luck getting gay marriage elected by the people in the US when every politician runs around with their religion on their sleeve and needs to be seen as a good Christian or whatever to even get elected.
