I always crack up when people are like countries don't care about winning basketball it's like are you for real? Some how I dont think the feds will be releasing the monies promised. Shorten wont be handing over $500m to Jay as promised in the election campaign, and Turnbull's love for trains and light rail and more funding for the city systems, will struggle to get through the new senate when there are other priorities. The transition to the new hospital will take a lot longer than revealed so having a 1km track will be better than having nothing when funds are short. But yes the electrification of the whole rail system should have been a priority and despite the cut backs forced by the GFC and they should have been spread out over time and line by line over completed over a longer period rather than just terminated.

Why don't you ask the Reserve Bank what they think of the glut of apartment buildings that are just about to be opened on the east coast, with 50,000 apartments being released over the next few years. They made special mention of it a couple of times last year, saying that the levels were unsustainable. What does the SA Labor government do, with a population that is considerably less and therefore house prices that are cheaper as well? Encourage the same stupidity without the actual demand for it, in a city that is decentralised like Adelaide with no real financial or business centre to speak of.
