Reminds me of a shit job I had last year. The boss sent around an email in which he mentioned that mad max was “shit”.

I quit about a week later. Trust your instincts folks.

Incredibly boring game. Enjoyed Ronaldo getting up to manage from the touchline in extra time though.

I'm sure his middle name must be "mememe".

The game was more disappointing because both teams have had their moments during the tournament and I was hoping it might be more attacking.

Disappointed with Griezmann, Pogba and Payet. Portugal winning the whole thing is just ridiculous though. Through the groups on third place, only beat Wales in 90 minutes. Won the final without their best player and through a guy who had never scored in a competitive international.

Bold Ghostbusters reboot/remake/reimagination/rewhatever prediction:

- It won't be anywhere near as good as the original.
- It won't be anywhere near as bad as the sequel.

It will be something similar in tone to Paul Feig's other films - Bridesmaids, The Heat and Spy.

Now, I like Feig's fillums. They're fun... but exhausting. Like his mate Judd Apatow, he's enamoured with ad-libbing. Scenes can drag on forever.

Fellas, the 100min comedy is your friend. A good friend. Befriend them.

Thursday melts x2 this week...

Johnny Mac won in the 80's, thirty years on Lendel gets a liitle bit of revenge.

CA$H IS BETTER THAN A CZECH!!!

Always lol at that sign in the stands at the '87 Wimbledon final.

There's a Borg v McEnroe fillum coming out.

Set around the epic 1980 Wimbledon final.

Starring Shia LeBeouf as the Superbrat.

Perfect casting.

Maybe Pogba was trying to save his new club some dough?

Wouldn't have converted any non soccer/football fans through the whole tournament despite Iceland's best efforts.

Am I the only one who thought The Force Awakens was just...average?

Agree with the rest though - don't get me started on Ghostbusters.
It was average. If you took out the cameo's from the old characters and had the same plot and actors otherwise and it was called 'Generic space movie' it'd already be forgotten by everyone. Rose coloured glasses galore. Not as vanilla as Resurgence, but if it's Neopolitan Icecream, it's one with most of the chocolate and strawberry already eaten.

I don't think it was great by any means, it leaves the sequels with a lot to do, which will reflect back to it if they're any good, but compared to the other revival films, its the Godfather.

I had forgotten about Ghostbusters!

Forgot about Mad Max as well. Another good one. Creed was really good too but given the last Rocky was only 10ish years ago it isn't that much of a revival.

The problem with the Ghostbusters reboot is that there are some hilarious actresses/comedians out there and they didn't cast them. Chuck someone like Chelsea Peretti or Ilana Glazer in there and I'd be all over that shit. Melissa McCarthy pls.

Why does Ghostbusters need to be full of comedians? I know 3 of the 4 originals were comedy guys but it never tried to be funny. It just happened. Murray does most of the heavy lifting in the humour in it, then Akroyd. Ramis more of a laugh at, not with, and Hudson as the sort of everyman audience surrogate. Moranis as the side character a bit funny too.

Love that scene in the trailer where that one goes weak at the knees the moment Chris Hemsworth walks in. Girl power!

Zoe Saldana is another massive missed opportunity for Ghostbusters IMO - phenomenal actress, no stranger to sci fi and does comedy really well.

That first movie really is lightning in a bottle. Really strong characterizations, which is where a-lot of the comedy comes from. The new movie seems pretty broad from the trailers. Definite clash of comedic style...

Based on Independence Day, yes they can. See part one for the affirmative, and part two for horrible actors and actresses falling over bad writing.

Aw **** the StarGate reboot will be a mess.

IDK if different actresses could save what looks like not-good writing
I guess if you get proper comedians involved then they need to be involved in writing it too.

The Force Awakens is starting to get the Avatar treatment. It comes out, everyone is impressed, word of mouth leads to a good extended run...

...then a bit later, everyone's opinions change, a lot to do with its popularity. With Avatar it made everyone think they were being original by saying "Dances with Pocahontas in Fern Gully!!" without realising the irony that they were being less original than the movie itself.

With The Force Awakens it's the cry of "another death star? It's just a new hope with modern graphics aaaaa".

I love both and don't care if people don't like either, but I can see the similarities in how TFA has followed Avatar's popularity path. It won't go that low though... Avatar only made $90 Million in its opening weekend and made it gigantic off of word of mouth thereafter, yet everyone who doesn't like it seems to have not liked it from the start! Crazy how that works.

If they had to make an all female one, because there is no other reason than "lets make an all female one" then some unpopular but probably better choice maybe Sarah Silverman and my guilty pleasure of Tina Fey.

Sarah Silverman was in Star Trek Voyager back in the day, lol.

So was the rock, surprisingly.

Star Wars is particularly vulnerable to the post-star wars mania re-rate. That said, TFA was never very good, seriously. Will be interesting to see how Rogue One goes, it will sell incredibly well but I don' think it will be able to live on the coat tails of the usual star wars mania. Since it's a spin off it could be refreshing or genericmovie2B.avi.

The trailer is leaning towards genericmovie3b. did lol @ the whole "LOOK WHAT YOU'VE BECOME!" fading voice with the chick dressed in tie-fighter pilot gear as if she had turned to the darkside.

Plot twist: She hasn't.

I said it at the time, but how good TFA is will always depend on how good the sequels to it are. All it is is a movie that lays some minimum groundwork. It can't be judged properly til then as part of a bigger picture.
