OK, if Islamophobes are racist which race is it they don't feel safe around?

If I don't like Christians does that make me racist?

Without getting too technical, you could say they generally have a problem with Arabs or anyone from the Middle East. Getting too specific about their aversion to people from that region isn't necessary when you're talking about xenophobia. Anyone that thinks that 'Islamaphobia' has nothing to do with race is kidding themselves.

I think the overriding point is that the term "as a mother" has been corrupted by its constant abuse, to the extent that it makes someone sound like an idiot even when using it in a reasonable context.

It's almost as if billions of females have never shat out a baby before.

Well, according to ads for dishwashing liquid and panadol I mean.

For those of you who had never heard of this, i.e. everyone: http://www.migrationheritage.nsw.gov.au/exhibition/enemyathome/battle-of-broken-hill/. I particularly liked the bit about cutting the hoses of the firefighters who came to stop the German Club burning down because the Turkish oops Afghani protagonists were clearly sausage fans in disguise.

Ten points for incredibly obscure halal reference. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

I already knew of it, my dad use to take me to white rocks to play guns, which after '96 became cap guns! He would ride my out there on the back of his Yamaha XS. That was a nice bike. Shame he sold it for $50 at a garage sale.

I mean, if you are going to be racist, at least do it in a semantically correct fashion. I mean ****, what sort of racists are we raising these days?

Shame he didn't sell you for 50 dollars at a garage sale.

Badum-tish.

"As a mother" I really freakin enjoyed the game on Saturday. I really like beating Norfs but as a mother i was disappointed that Sooky Scott didn't actually implode. I really hate Drew Petrie and ducking Thomas but that is just me speaking as a mother.

As a mother, I would really like Port to win all of our remaining games, as a mother.

As a person in a defacto and childless relationship, I really enjoy when mothers whinge about things.
As a childless man, I feel that we should ****ing play john butcher farkin.

So Aussie Muslims are OK but not ones from the Middle East? How about Indonesian Muslims, Malaysian Muslims, Pakistani Muslims? Are Lebanese Christians the same as Lebanese Muslims?

I understand that Islam is one of the "attributes" that some xenophobes associate with people from the Middle East but I doubt Kruger, Bolt and Hanson want to limit the ban on Muslims by race.

Now that you have clearly identified yourself as a mother your opinions on BigFooty will carry far more weight.

You sound more like a wicked step-mother there. I'da thought it would only be Norf supporters who felt that way about poor old Drew these days...

But it's the miracle of birth. Billions and billions of miracles all around us!

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure giving birth is tough, but almost everyone with the right bits and a pulse can do it. The sheer prevalence of the act suggests that it's not exactly the textbook definition of a miracle.

**** me, why are nobody talk show hosts like Sonia Kruger even giving their opinions on complex societal issues. **** me indeed.
I remember standing behind her at an atm in Melbourne about 15 years ago & some lads at a cafe table close by made some disparaging comments toward her. She retorts the classic "don't you know who I am?" To which they reply "no" & give her shit about being a nobody. Turns to me for support, I go "you kinda asked for that" or something like it. Suppose that makes me a campaigner but didn't feel in this case like being the white knight.

La Kruger did have one genuinely funny moment on TV, tho.

Seven News or some shit crossed live to her at the Cold Mountain premiere in Sydney.

Anyway, she's desperately trying to get Nicole Kidman's attention on the red carpet, screaming out:

"Nicole, Nicole! I was in Strictly Ballroom with Baz! I was Tina Sparkle!"

Cringeworthy to the max. So tragic, it damn well got Kidman's attention. Our Nic looked down at her with a mix of scorn, pity and revulsion. She feigned a smile* that said:

"Bitch, please."

*When she could still smile before all that botox.

You should have asked for her autograph then handed it back saying, "Sorry, I thought you were Johanna Griggs. "

This is basically the Australian equivalent of the Jenny McCarthy anti-vaxx stuff.

Putting your position as a parent as a central tenet in your dangerous and unsubstantiated idiocy so that everyone who attacks your point of view is also attacking you as a parent.

Which, by the way, we are. What are they gonna do about it?

The lack of balance is concerning. The right go further right, the left go further left.

Nah. "Balance" is the original one dimensional term for FOX-news excusing the coverage of BS "alternative" viewpoints like, oh, anti-vaxx-ism.

BS is still just BS.

The Daily Terrorgraph and the Feral Sun reach more people than the SMH/Age.

Opinion is not the same as journalism but that battle is lost...The exposure to BS almost defensively couched as "balance" is long gone. The BS now dominates the print media IMO and a bunch of people now lap it up as the norm. Some of the Hansonite nutters on my FB feed used to be reasonable people, now they have basically been... radicalised by extremist speech from both sides.
