Well I am on holidays at the moment and I am just getting a bit stearo at the moment - did I use the word in the correct grammatical sense?

I think you've created the potential for a new word. Stearohols.

The club ambassador won his 16th world championship.

But Craig Cook ( who has written some interesting stuff the last 3 months) is stretching things a bit too much in the following article. Can't find the article on line so its a cut and paste of the paper edition from www.pressdisplay.com

Taylor on target for sweet 16th
3 Jan 2013 The Advertiser State Edition CRAIG COOK

‘‘FABULOUS’’ Phil Taylor is World Darts Champion again and his absorbing victory in London on New Year’s Day could prove a positive omen for Port Adelaide Football Club.

Taylor – who became a Power ambassador in August – came back from 4-2 down to beat young gun Michael van Gerwen 7-4 in the final........

The only reason you think that is stretching things is there is nothing obviously negative about it when he mentions Port Adelaide. Unless the ****er is implying that the omen is we'll end up with a team full of fat, balding, durry smoking piss wrecks who play darts. (No offence Cobra).

True.

On a related note, would the best darts players in the world be described as elite athletes?

Hand eye co-ordination second to none. ;)

If it's considered a sport then thats the elite level. If I could throw a dart I'd be perfect. I love drinking piss and getting angry.

Super Teddy Hankey had a stroke on stage at the tourney in Wolverhampton. I'd seen him play the night before and was commenting to the people next to me that the guy looked seriously unwell.

I seriously wondered where you were going with that before the picture popped up.

I have caught him 2 or 3 times. Keep forgetting. Got up a bit late to catch him as I didn't flick over until 9am this morning.

When I moved to Sydney in the early 90's he used to do the 1pm to 4pm arvo shift on 2BL/ABC702 the equivalent of 5AN/ABC891. Found myself regularly having lunch late or doing the banking or do some running around so I could listen to him on the car radio. Back then he was determined to be the first radio show to discover the true nature of dark matter. Also back then he was doing the arvo show, This Sporting Life on Triple J and Club Buggery on ABC TV all at once...........

And on queue Johnny Doyle this morning was talking about dark matter / dark energy - what forces drives the universe and ultimately how will it end at 8-30 this morning with 2011 Physic Nobel Prize winner, Aussie-American Professor Brian Schmidt. To listen to Doyle try to find the answer as he tackles the Nobel Laureate for quarter of an hour this morning, listen to the segment podcast at

Astronomy with Professor Brian Schmidt

If you understand some basic physics its an entertaining and interesting segment. I love how he struggles to grasp why there are still the great unkowns.

You probably wouldn't dream it was a stroke, but he's clearly in trouble in terms of vision, balance and fine motor skills.

I reckon the Port calendar I got for 1998 had a maximum of 8 players that were still on our list.

Bought the book but never got around to reading it.
So it was him? I won a copy of it....now just need to remember where I put it (if I got it). He seemed like a decent bloke when we talked on PM around then. Weird.
