Every Time I see and hear Obama use soaring rhetoric ( see today's inauguration) I think of Kenny Everett's Brother Lee Love.

Hmmm was actually referring to the former Adelaide 36ers basketballer who got busted as a peeping tom!

Well then boy you need some churching up and Al Green is just the man to do it.

So the afl has banned gloves. Pure 12 (and maybe butcher once) are our only players I can think of that wear them outside of games in Darwin, so we aren't overly affected, but a fair few players across the league will be.

I'm guessing that this is on the back of the research that espn had been doing on gloves in the NFL. Personally, I can understand players being allowed to wear them in wet weather, or in the humid conditions when we are in Darwin.

They haven't banned gloves just those that offer way too much assistance in terms of grip. They will allow them for injuries and the older style ones that don't have any real assistance when it comes to marking.

Step 1) Get some of these puppies.

Step 2) Play sp0rtz
Step 3) ???
Step 4) Profit.

There is his ESPN sports science program filler ad on at the moment ( on ESPN), with the lead up to the Superbowl, about the new gloves that wide receivers use having 2.5 x the amount of grip a car tyre has with the road. The old ones had about 80% grip of the car tyre to road. Maybe the AFL got some info from this program/research.

Yep just some of the new ones probably using the same technology made for the wide receivers gloves in the NFL

AFL bans six brands of glove that offer too much grip

What's up with all the poster name changes recently ?

You feel like you get to know someones sense of humour and likes / dislikes
Everytime you see their name you already have a "picture" of who you're "talking to"

Then suddenly they're someone else and it's a bit weird

Who are you and who did you used to be?

And "Beat It" to answer my own question in the post above.

"It's always handy to have runs on the board"
Another breathtaking insight as to why Australia should score runs, from the masterful mind of Michael Slater.
