The fact that it takes a ridiculous amount of time to play the last 2 minutes or so ruins the excitement and suspense for me. Don't get me wrong I love the NFL but it gets ridiculous at times. Give me the grand final over that game any day and lets pray to the gods no one ever tries to bring in any kind of timeout system in AFL...........

The NFL can eat a bag of dicks. Terrible sport.
I was once like you.

Then I learned the rules (I previously thought fourth down and 21 was an accurate description of not long into a milestone birthday dinner), adopted a team and I love it. Annoyed at myself I didn't take a liking to it 20 years ago.

Awesomesauce with extra force.

I've been into it since my dad bought be NFL Quarterback Club 98 on the Nintendo 64.

It's probably the most interesting sport in the world in terms of tactics and strategy, and the league is run brilliantly IMO. It's absolutely THE model that every other professional sports league in the world (including our AFL) should be aspiring to.

Good god, that makes it worse. How could you start being a Colts fan at this point? Its like jumping on Port right after Wazza retired.
They pretty much went and drafted another one. From stone motherless last to playoffs and an assured 10+ years of challenging in the space of 12 months.

I was in Indianapolis for a wedding in 2000 and started following the Pacers (Reggie Miller and I are cousins according to the locals - loooong story) and the Colts then but as I said above I have only the past twelve months got right into the NFL.

And with that, here's a joke from July 1997.

What do the Pacers and Dodi Al-Fayed have in common? Indiana.

Can't really blame them for that. A few teams have had trouble with him. Still, better you don't support the Eagles
While true they knew what to expect, and when they said after the fact that they regretted doing that, **** that. They had been playing a hard line with players about "we pay for what you will do, not what youve done"

TO demanding a pay increase after his first year, now THAT was inevitable, but they tried to change their policy. Weak and Crowsish, particularly how long they hung onto good guy Andy Reid
