Are you Adam Sandler?
I have a `great' idea for an Adam Sandler film actually.

He plays James "Jimmy" Fothrington III, the materialistic son of a eccentric billionaire. His dad dies, but when it comes to the will, the old man doesn't leave Sandler any money, giving it all to a trust run by <generic hot actress> the lawyer to be used in ways that Dad outlines (most of which are obscure and/or stupid, like a carnival for old people), and that there will be a small allowance for Jimmy if he works for the foundation.

When he is put in a situation by bad guy Chet Winter, where he can take a large but not huge small amount of money but destroy the foundation in the process, he is tempted to do it. Film shit happens, he hooks up with lawyer chick.

Something happens, Jimmy announces he will not go through with Chet's plan as previously agreed, but want s the foundation to go on for ever. Hooray for everyone.

At this point, hot lawyer chick reveals that there was a secret will that was the real will, that gave Jimmy full control of the foundation and all its assets, because he had proven he had seen that there were more important things in life than money and having fun. Cue end titles with stupid still photos of dumb shit Steve Buscemi and Rob Schnyder's characters have done.

****. I came up with Adam Sandler film fanfic.

You just described his movie Billy Madison.
No because in that one he did ridiculous things like being an emotionally stunted idiot going to school, whereas in this one he does ridiculous things like being an emotionally stunted idiot doing charitable deeds.

I'm no Sandler fan but respect where respect is due Waterboy is one of the greatest films ever made and has been the basis for my adult life.

Waterboy was pretty good, I agree.

Actually I really liked Punch-Drunk Love, but it doesn't really count as an Adam Sandler film IMO.

I've also watched 50 First Dates far too many times. The song over the end titles made me buy a ukelele (that I naturally never bothered learning to play).

Yeah PDL was excellent but he wasn't Adam Sandler in that. Similar to when Jim Carrey wasn't Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I could sit through 50 First Dates again.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was great; exactly the right mix of ludicrous, sappy and thoughtful.

I think Carrey was ok as Not Jim Carrey in The Majestic, but gee that was an odd film...not abnormal, it just didn't feel `right'.
Haven't seen The Majestic so can't comment. There is another Carrey fillum where he isn't Carreyish which I enjoyed but it's name escapes me at the moment.

Having had a crack at the bloke I have always love Ace Ventura and watched it 4,731 times.
