Saw that pick on snicko!
Looking at some old school Nike Huaraches on Ebay.... All time favourite sneaker. $265 delivered.
So when I started seeing my girlfriend at the end of November she had been a Sydney member for 5 years. I told her I was going to convert her but she wouldn't have a bar of it, she said she'd still come to a few games with me though.
The first game I took her to was Showdown 34. She wanted to bring her friend who is a Crows supporter, and as we were sitting with a group of 7 of my Port Adelaide supporting family members she promised her friend she would wear a Crows scarf so the friend had some support. Almost a dumpable offence, but Kern's words hit true: "Never give up."
I then brought her to the West Coast game where she was super impressed with Jake Neade and Ollie Wines. "Yeah, Port have some good players actually" was her summary. Okay, good call. The seed was planted.
She missed the Sydney game but I spoke to her afterwards and she was only mildly disappointed, in fact she was more impressed with Port's performance. Solid progress!
Then she came to the Collingwood game. I bought a scarf for her which she happily wore. I could tell the energy of that game was really infectious and she was starting to buy in. On the way home she said that Port Adelaide were really beginning to grow on her.
Over the coming weeks she noted that she would rarely take notice of Sydney games anymore, but she would watch, or at least keep updated on Port Adelaide's matches every week. She wondered whether that was because she cared about the result, or whether she was seeing if I would actually be in a good mood that night. Hopefully the former.
Cue Showdown 35. That was the final push. She has just informed me that she has put money away to buy a 2014 membership. I asked her if this means she's finally on our side. "Y'know what? I actually think I am."
10/10, currently shopping for engagement rings.
It wasn't easy, believe me! Thank god we're playing good, attractive footy this year or I'd be fighting a losing battle.Hope she doesn't dump you as easily as she dumped her team!
I guess you could say... it was over... immediatelyWhen intimate with the GF, I said "Do you mind?" and pulled out my phone with the video of dat bounce, placing it over her face.
Needless to say I didn't last long.

I just realised I'm in love with Port Adelaide again!
