Well I'm not sure how old people think I am, but to contribute to the musical nature of the current conversation in this thread, here are my most undderated bands ever (bands I can't believe aren't huge goliaths that continue to sell out stadiums around the world):

City Boy (like the missing link between Queen and ELO)
Type O Negative (throw Black Sabbath, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and 90s goth into a blender)
Ugly Kid Joe (attitude-driven street rock at its finest)
Soul Asylum (the masters of writing ridiculously depressing songs that sound happy)
Danger Danger (imagine if Bon Jovi had bigger and better hits)
Enuff Z'Nuff (The Beatles to Cheap Trick to Enuff Z'Nuff is kinda like the progression)
Love/Hate (attitude-driven street rock at its finest)

I once had an argument with a mate while listening to Shine by Collective Soul in the dim dark ages before proliferated home internet let alone Google/Wiki at your fingertips 24/7. He thought it was Ugly Kid Joe.

"Mate, I'm telling you. It's Collective Soul", I said while tugging at the brim of my semensalt-streaked Golden State cap.
- "Nah, it sounds like Ugly Kid. It's Ugly Kid", he retorted with reasoning that would put him in a Home Prelim in the chase for an Intern position under Sarah Palin.
"It sounds nothing like UKJ! ****!", I spat back, my red cells aboil.
- "Look <NAME REDACTED>, it's Ugly Kid Joe", he calmly insisted with all the assurance of a human Shazam.

I had the last laugh when he died.

How could he ever confuse Whitfield's ferocious growl with the Christian derp of Collective Soul? I do like Shine a lot though.

Pretty awesome, but Kishi Sushi on Rundle St (up the end across from the Stag) is the best. 10 plates for $30 specials are on often, and all Japanese beers are $3! It is owned an ran by some real nice people too.

Australian society is stupid. Nickelback are universally laughed at and yet shit like Jet, Powderfinger, 21st century Silverchair and the Foo Fighters are talked about as great Aussie (well, not the Foo Fighters) bands. They're all just as generic and shit as each other. I'd rather listen to How You Remind Me than any song the above quartet has released.
