I played Trigganopoly last night. It's like a cross between monopoly and trigonometry but all the numbers are wrong. My first turn didn't come until round 3 and when I played the chance card I got fined $500,000 and I was banned from the game for 6 months.

I also put a hotel on West Lakes only to find it was no longer in the game and owned by somebody else anyway.

I hate supermarket checkout small talk.

Sometimes you can't avoid it.

Like when one thing leads to another after you need to ask for a piece of paper to wrap your shitty non-chipped BankSA card in because they're too skinny for the slide-reader to pick up.

Thanks a lot, John Bannon.

And now, for no reason beyond insomnia, I am going to reply to a selection of the posts from the first page of this thread.

And before you tell me that this has been done before, please note that I am assuming that this has probably been done before.

It annoys me that the black/white on the vee on our white/black training guernseys respectively are bigger than the teal. That's depressing.

Teal pops. That's why you use it sparingly.

I'm twelve.

I wish I was 12. :(

I think Port started going downhill when Russell Ebert started getting involved in the club again. His absence was the most productive period in PAFC history.

I agree. Beyond his contributions as a player, I don't rate him. (Seriously).

I've always wanted one of these threads so I could make this post.

It's pretty good, huh?

Equestrian sucks balls and should be removed from the Olympics.

My mum cries when she watches dressage. True story.

If Port had come into the AFL in 1990, how would we now rank Tredrea, Modra and Hodges comparatively?

We'd hate Tredrea because he would've joined the newly formed Adelaide Crows as part of their AFL entry concessions. Modra would've been a bit less of a flog. Hodges would've kicked a miracle goal to win the 1996 prelim against Collingwood. So Hodges.

I get really annoyed at having to pay extra for more leg room on flights despite being a fairly normal height of 1.91m

It's a scientific fact that taller people are at a social and financial advantage. So **** you.

If Brian Cunningham hadn't arranged to leave the club at the end of 2004, would we have won the premiership in 2005?

No, we generally sucked in 2005.

I still don't understand why I liked Stephen Daniels as a footballer.

That goal in Showdown II.

We never really dealt with what caused the 2001 elimination final loss to Hawthorn, and we're still paying for it today.

I certainly never dealt with it.

It's pretty good for all meetings to be honest. Being aware of your own body language, you can change the way people think you are feeling.

Assuming they believe what they've read about body language, that is.

Assuming they believe what they've read about body language, that is.

An employee comes into your office and asks to speak to you in private. You ask them to shut the door, and they take a seat and begin to talk about their salary being inadequate, and ask for a pay rise. You can:
  • Turn your chair between 60 and 90 degrees to them, and lean back in your chair with your arms and legs crossed. Occasionally glance at your Blackberry/Outlook while they are speaking.
  • Face them directly and lean slightly forward, giving them eye contact while they speak and occasionally nodding.
Body language isn't anything massively complicated, but the two instances above leave people feeling entirely different about a conversation. I used to work with a manager who did the first one for every meeting he ever had. It comes across as borderline disrespectful.

It's Canada... they love Blackberry. RIM is an Ontario-based company after all.

I have both a Blackberry and a personal phone. Blackberry is paid for by the company, and saves me giving out my personal number.

It's been done before.

You are a brave man going back there raman. Many things have changed since Schulzenfest started this thread. Schulzy was just young man with a dream to create the most random thread on the infanet, now he is 86 years old but surprisingly less bitter.

A few other people have changed along the way too....

Self-explanatory. Dunno if there's another one of these threads floating around.

So I just learned that Brett Ebert is our third highest goalkicker in our AFL history. If he kicks 12 more goals before the end of his Port Adelaide career, he'll be second. That's depressing.

Did Ebo ever kick those 12 goals?

Try going through the self service checkout and conduct small talk, you get the weirdest looks.
