Who the hell was M. Joseph supposed to be? It's plagued me for decades.

Based on his stats and process of elimination I surmised it to be Mark Waugh but 1. what relevance is 'Joseph' and 2. why not call him 'M. Mars'?

In the 38th Testament - The gospel according to Roger, Joseph was the brother of God hence Mark Waugh.

Your answer was correct but I have had to mark you down because your working out was wrong.

6/10.

Just read something on Hugh Lofting, the author of the Doctor Dolittle books. It took me back because when I was a kid they sparked a passion for reading in me like we heard happened for so many kids with the Harry Potter books. They were the first non-cartoon books I voluntarily read, it was a big jump for me to sit and read several hundred pages of text. Anyone else who enjoys reading have a similar book or series of books that got them going?

He is very good.

Don't tell him I said that though.

Dr Who books in year 5. Back then they were the shit. Still read a truck load of books now, currently working my way through the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child. Great reading. Child must be running out of ideas for getting Reacher into life and death situations.

Singer from Lostprophets is one sick **** !

Hope he dies a slow and torturous death.

Jeez. I loved their first two albums. In fact I listened to Fake Sound of Progess today.

Don't think I can ever listen to them again after reading that. The fact that one of the ladies charged is apparently the mother is even worse!

I'm the equivalent of a self-hating Jew when it comes to the notso great state of Fruchoctopia, but even I can admit those roads paved with Fruchocs shit all over those east of Bordertown.

What a baby shambles.

Sort it out Vic Country.

Just watched a great 10 minute acceptance speech by Gold Walkely winner Jo McCarthy.McCarthy has spent 7 years and wrote 350 articles about children abused in institutionilised care in The Hunter Valley for the Newcastle Herald. Gillard's last act as PM was to write her a letter saying thanks for her persistence and courage saw the setting up of NSW Special Commission of Inquiry and the federal Royal Commission will bring truth and healing to the victims of hirendous abuse and betrayal.

The cathloic girl who didnt want to be a journalist but a librarian, who was talked iinto applying for a cadetship in Gosford because her bofriend (now husband) didnt want her going to Macquire Uni and fall in love with someone else, was appointed on a Sunday morning by the editor, on his way home from church offered the girl from a good catholic family ( was one of 11 kids) up the road the job. As she said for those that want to believe in a god she really does work in mysterious ways.

Said all the family except her parents are no longer catholic.

How great was the Riftwar Saga.

The Gap Cycle by Donaldson was very good too.

The first book series I read as a kid would have been Dune.

Heavy start. Did you ever have to go back and re-read the first one? I had to, lots of twists or bits of important information that only made sense in hindsight and with the bigger picture in my head.

I first read Dune as a 13yo and then followed through with the other books over the following year or so. Revisited it when the Lynch movie came out as some things didn't resonate with me.

I've read the first book several times since.

As a younger kid, I loved the Three Investigators. Jupiter Jones was a legend.
