I'm not aware of any box sets of the series that also include FWWM. They have always been owned by different distributors. It's not hard to find on DVD anyway.

Net result: I only need to subscribe to Foxtel during the footy season.

I'm amazed how many of you are into american football, in all my work and leisure associates no-one including me has any interest in that game, I'm not sure if that makes us normal or not!

I find college football quite tedious unless there is some sort of upset brewing. The difference between the top teams and lower teams is so utterly overwhelming.

Frankly, I find the idea of these colleges making ridiculous amounts of millions on the back of student athletes kind of disgusting. They get a scholarship which may be worth $100,000 over four years but the players should be getting far more than that, considering what they bring in. Considering the amount of work they have to do training, I seriously doubt many of them actually get much of a chance to put those scholarships to any use.

Amateur sport died for a reason. The amount of cash and exploitation from those doing the work finally got seen through. Except in college sports.

Yeah, there's certainly a truth to the slave-labour argument levelled at the NCAA and its many many willing conspirators, but apart from the ridiculous wages given to the Sabans and Meyers at least the vast sums generated are funnelled largely into campus works and facilities.

I'm not having a crack at american footy, I just don't have an interest in it, it's probably really good but if I had my choice in the states to see a top line game of either basketball, baseball or NFL basketball would easily be my choice not closely followed by baseball.

I picked Duke in basketball from watching a home game years ago but never got around to picking a college footy team.

I watched the movie The Blind Side and Sandra Bollocks has made me sure I will never pick Tennessee or the other mob mentioned who my pissed brain right now forgets.

South Carolina Gamecocks are my team. Saw them play the Florida Gators in November and the atmosphere was insane. Had a local family invite me in to join their tailgate. The top deck of the stand literally sways when they play sandstorm and everyone is up and about jumping. I didn't take the video but sus this out...

Probably true. Those 100,000 seater stadiums are redic though. Considering how much effort it took to simply get one upgraded in Adelaide.You gotta give there supporters props.

Speaking of 90's shows. The X-Files still holds up. We won't talk of season 8 and 9 but the early stuff is still downright good.

Why don't you do what all Australian fans of American sports do, and arbitrarily pick a team that you have no connection to.

I was like you up until 3 or 4 years ago.

I distinctly remember having conversations with people over the years that went along the lines of "the one sport I've never been able to get into..."

But I learned the rules (paramount - the whole 2nd & 16, 3rd & 2 thing was the equivalent of an American & LBW growing up), got a feel for it and I can honestly say American Football would be above Aussie Rules for me in terms of neutral enjoyment.

I couldn't give a shit about Freo-WCE or Collingwood-Carlton for instance, but I'd happily watch Bama-Auburn or say, the Manning Bowl for overall interest and entertainment.

Been watching some NFL this year but I really can't say it lives up to the hype personally. Far too stop-start, but if it's on i'll watch it.

Probably didn't help that I arbitrarily picked the Bears to follow as they were a bit up and down this year.
