I could totally believe there was a Linkin Park prompted school massacre if the perpetrator was selectively killing all the kids who were into Linkin Park.

I managed to totally avoid the Nu-Metal craze despite being in the prime age for it when Linkin Park, Korn, Limp Bizkit et al came around and having all my friends go nuts for it.

I'm pretty sure I was listening to Weezer.

In terms of nu-metal, I was a nu-metal kid growing up. Im not gonna lie and pretend it didnt happen. Everyone has a gateway in terms of music that leads you into broader horizons. Almost noone just wakes up and is suddenly a huge death metal or hardcore fan. Doesnt happen. For me, that gateway was nu-metal.

My gateway was pop punk, I say So-Cal Skate Punk when asked to make it sound cooler but at the end of the day it was pop punk. I made a tongue in cheek remark when I said nu metal is for carnies, I'm sorry about that, but it's funny when I think about how some of the bands I liked (like NOFX) would wear baggy corduroy shorts, oversized skate shoes and dreads and look pretty ****ing carnyish. Glass houses hey?

Following the Miami Dolphins is difficult for a variety of reasons.

The colours make it very difficult to wear any sort of merchandise without looking a bit ridiculous

The greatest legend in franchise history has a massive * next to his otherwise celebrated list accomplishments for not having won a Superbowl

We've been heinously shit since a couple of seasons after Marino retired, bar a fluke 2008 seasons where everything went right and Brady was out for the season for the Patriots.

We have awfully botched several high first round picks in the past decade.

We have zero stability in any coaching positions, and the fans seem to like it that way, calling for (and often getting) the firing of everyone in the coaching staff after every season that doesn't end with a deep playoff run (which is every season).

Our owner has no idea what it takes to run a successful football franchise and doesn't put the right people in place.

Every quarterback who isn't automatically a touchdown machine Marino reincarnation is howled down by the fans until he is traded for a 7th rounder. I like Tannehill and thing he'll grow into a good NFL player but dolphins fans have absolutely no patience and have seemingly lost the concept that things can take time. Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Steve Young, Donovan McNabb. All QBs who started their careers very slowly then developed after being given time.

Reading a Dolphins fan forum is a painful exercise.

It's weird how we get excited that acfilm is on tv, when we have it in the collection anyway. I watch old episodes of the Sopranos and the Wire on TV all the time yet wouldn't dream of putting on the box set.
