I think John McCarthy sums up where we are as a football club.

He came into our side highly rated (although I never rated him before, as you'll see in some of my posts - my main question was his kicking... enough pumping up my own tyres), and then proceeded to show why. He actually made me into a fan. A goalkicking mid with tremendous ball winning ability.

Then Port Adelaide hit him. His confidence was shot. His worry over his left foot in turn made it's way over to his right foot. He was never a great kick on his right, but he wasn't god awful.

On the weekend, he handballed to I believe it was Darren, who was already committed to providing a shepherd, so the handball went to no one and led to a turnover. That wasn't just a lack of talk, that was John McCarthy no longer having confidence in himself to kick a football.

Sure, he can take blame for his decline over the year. But to me, he's proof of what the club has done to players that come here.

So hopefully we do everything right this offseason, cos I'd love to see what he's capable of as that 5th midfielder with confidence in his own ability to take the game on. Hell, I have a sentence like that for a lot of our players.

In fact, I'll go further and say that dubstep as used in that tune is the Electro Rock equivalent of a tedious, excessively long and ultimately masturbatory instrument solo, as seen in jazz, blues & hair metal before they became completely ****ing irrelevant; its the powerchord of the new millenium.
