i dont really understand how that excuse can fly with you portia? how is it we all religiously cant miss a game knowing full well we will be made to look like fools, yet our captain cant find it in himself to go down to the club and watch the match, or even stay home while the game is in progress.

its insulting to think we all waste our weekend watching this mob of muppets run around like headless chickens, but our captain cbf'ed

Didn't it turn out Dom couldn't travel because of injury, and something about how he is the sort of guy that can't watch his team play if hes not in it because he gets too on edge?

Whereas the photo without context made Dom look like a `who gives a ****' captain which just looking at blaaargh's response above has coloured perceptions negatively.

Firstly, I want to say that all personal attacks in this thread are unjustified - I have real respect for your '40000' thread and all that you have decided to reveal and do. (Seriously)

I just really believe that an Afl captain must be held to a higher standard than others n our society - I also read that he can't watch the games, but I don't think that gives him an excuse to be seen in public when the team is playing.

I am going to bed as I think this is about to turn nasty, just want to say I enjoy reading all contributors to this board and the differences of opinion / style is what makes it interesting to read.

its not a perception its reality... there is little to perceive about dom being out and about while "his" team are playing a football match, the reality tells me he cbf'ed.

I don't think the excuse flies particularly well at all. Maybe Dom doesn't give a shit. But we can make a call on his on-field performance - he's had shit form, but this paints him almost as a bit of a shit bloke. I am not sure who it advantages to spread shit like this? Still haven't had an answer to this.

For journalists, its ratings and paper sales. But here? Whats the benefit?

If the club dont like it, be tighter with their leaks, be more professional and it wont happen.

its a sad day for the club when its members are making them more accountable for their follies
