You know being literally minutes from the great river I have spent very little time on it or near it over the past couple of years, it's a bloody nice site once all the tourists are gone , ahhh the serenity

Makes me think of Tailem Bend how new houses are only just being built facing the river, like people have just realised it's better to look at a body of water and green pastures than a f*cking freeway...

But it's such an attractive freeway

Watching the GP, finishing off the remaining players for the Port board POTY, watched Safety Not Guaranteed earlier...thats about it

What did you think? Seem a bit too indie and cute for you mate ;)

I liked it. Aubrey Plaza <3

Really liked it. I like those indie dramedy flicks like 500 Days of Summer, Juno, Little Miss Sunshine so it was right up my alley.

Well, you can't have any.

Did not like Safety Not Guaranteed. Fairly predictable, not many laughs. The lead actor was writer and director (?) obviously keen to create a platform to get it on with Aubrey Plaza/anyone.

Sick of Zooey Deschanel's schtick too. Same character (Magical Pixie Girl) in everything.

She acts?

Neither the writer or director were in the film

TV recommendation: Freaks and Geeks

If you like Superbad, I Love You Man etc you should get into this. Humour is a bit toned down from those but in a vaguely similar ballpark. Masterfully intertwines brilliantly written comedy and drama.

Didn't mind Safety Not Guaranteed.

Best indie dramedy I've seen recently was Take This Waltz, probably more drama than comedy though.

funny you mention that. Just finished watching the last episodes for the 410th time this morning. It is without doubt the king of high school tv series and one of the very best tv series of all time. I reckon its perfect. Its such a shame that it only lasted 1 and a bit seasons but they jammed so much awesomeness into those episodes that it doesnt matter.

I reckon Superbad is like the sequel, very similar characters lead characters. Also worth checking out the series Undeclared, which is Apatow's follow up series to Freaks n Geeks.

Been working our way through the Bond series in anticipation of Skyfall (Gold Class booked!).

I notice that there is a disproportionate amount of snow skiing scenes throughout.

Been over my daughter's property today, watching the Shingleback & Monitor lizards, lots of roos & saw 1 echidna.

Have been trying to figure out what type of Monitor lizards she has there, look a bit like a Lace Monitor in pattern, but they are only between 30 - 60 cms long.

my inlaws neighbour had an echidna on their property in mannum the other week, we took the kids over to see it, was unreal to see this little fella so close to the township. I had a little monitor run across the road near my house today, I believe it was a sand monitor but can't be sure as the head looked a little different to what i know them to be.

The adult Sandy's are big buggars, at least the ones I've seen were.

The one's at my daughters may be some kind of pygmy variety ????????? dunno ?????????

Lots of good Monitors can be found around Shell Hill

Do you know the Coonalpyn area well?

Seen the concrete trough near it?

It's supposed to be the longest one in somewhere?

Bit of a laugh, they have a tourist information board at the site.

yeah i don't think what i saw a sand one after googling them, have seen them though through my work on the broomrape program. not familiar with coonalpyn area, but do like going to shell hill with the kids, they love walking around finding fossils. That whole area is a state treasure if you ask me, the road that travels along the marne river there is such a beautiful drive, if only the marne river flowed more often than it does.
