Fantastic! When the revolution comes, your archives will keep our culture alive!

I'll leave them to the state library ... ;)

Are the crowbot staff the bunch of mindless jerks who will be the first ones against the wall when the revolution comes?

They'll probably be the ones manning the People's Committees once the revolution starts stagnating.

I like studio sound. I guess that makes me not hardcore, oh well.

Nothing wrong with that. But when I go to see a band, I don't go there to hear a reproduction of their album versions. I want to hear some improvisation.

I remember my missus taking me to see the Kings of Leon a few years ago. All their songs sounded like album versions. What's the point of going?

Well, with classical music they pretty much reproduce album versions, but the sound quality is different. You're hearing it in a setting (often similar to that it was designed for) with acoustic properties that can't be replicated by an ipod. It feels different.

Maybe its just different when the music is played loud as **** with drums and electric guitars.

Yeah you want a band to have a bit of fun with it.

I saw the Killers at the 2007 BDO who at the time were one of my favourite bands, and they just stood there and played with zero energy.

It was really boring.

Muse at the same festival blew my face off and solidified themselves as being my favourite band at the time (although now obviously they are dead to me)

I was pretty disappointed with my first live gig,

Thoroughly enjoyed mine

Saw Jesus Christ Superstar, also saw AC/DC with the Keystone Angles (later The Angels)

Well to be fair, I did thoroughly enjoy pointing out to stoner friends ways they might be able to try and get onto the stage for a dive attempt.

Good line up, mine was Slade at Birmingham Theatre about '77 ish I think...

Had the exact same experience. Was very unimpressed by the Killers then. Saw them two years later at a festival overseas and they were about 200 times better. Strange.

Genuine photo taken by one of my team in a store a short time ago. Can only guess that it is a coincidence, but a damn funny one!

I'm all for reducing the speed limit to 25 km/h around public work areas, but as far as I'm concerned any private works encroaching on public roadways....well, they can stick their lollipop 'stop/slow' signs and 25 km/h signs up their arse.

Lol............I'm with ya

I was pretty disappointed with my first live gig, which was Soundgarden on the tour for Superunknown. I love Chris Cornell's voice (on album), but **** me he couldn't hold a steady note that night, and there were hardly any of my favourite flourishes from the album.

By contrast, a band like Rage Against The Machine were exactly what you might expect, and I guess the Black Keys keep their stuff simple enough that they would be solid live too really.

I can't imagine that Radiohead live would be anything other than disappointing when compared to their albums (maybe more so stuff from Paranoid Android than their recent bleepier shit, and I guess stuff from The Bends would go well if they ever play it).

I like studio sound. I guess that makes me not hardcore, oh well.

 I saw Soundgarden at the BDO in '93 (Superunknown) and I remember them as friggin awesome!! Same day I saw Smashing Pumpkins for the first time (Siamese Dream) and that was amazing too!! At the first ever BDO in '92 (Adel Uni) I saw Nirvana......nuff said.

Agree with you on Rage, they are awesome live. Am hoping you are dead wrong on Radiohead as I have tickets for the Brissy show in a couple of weeks. I suspect you may be partially correct though as Thom's voice is not overly strong, hence the choice of smaller venues I expect.

I think someone needs a hug.

No you didn't.

Nirvana didn't come to Adelaide. They did the Sydney show. And the first BDO in Adelaide was in 93. Still got my ticket.
