Why do people get so offended when someone shit cans a band they like?

becuase despite it being comepletely subjective, people want affirmation that what they listen to/movies they like are of a certain quality.

You like what you like. Whether 100 other people or 158 million other people like the same thing doesnt matter to me.

Except for Creed. Anyone that likes Creed shouldnt be allowed to listen to music again.

You owned a Creed album didn't you?

I feel that way about many many bands and I am constantly completely flummoxed by peoples taste in music and what makes the popular music charts. I do manage to live in a bit of a bubble and I only become aware of sigh.... Psy and this whole Gangnam Style thing recently which is a good thing for me. That will all change as my daughter gets older I think.

I like Ween but understand why many don't so I couldn't give a **** if anyone finds them to their taste.

Ween are great. I cant stand country but that album they did of C&W style songs was hilariously good.

"Help me scrape the Mucus from my brain" is one of my favourite songs off all time.

They toured that album (12 Golden Country Greats) with The Shit Creek Boys.

Live in Toronto is a ****ing masterpiece.

I dont think ive ever been so insulted!

Though I did go to a Creed concert once for the sole reason of seeing Sevendust, who then cancelled a week before (the 2nd time in 2 years they cancelled a tour that I had purchased a ticket for). Walked out after two songs. Curtain raiser was good though.

If I was a mod and someone said that to me?

Let's just say you are a much nicer man than me macca.

We can recite creed songs together in a couple of weeks :D

My knowledge of their music is very very limited so it could be a short singalong....

I am currently listening to Rowland S Howards album "Teenage Snuff Film". It is criminal how under appreciated he was.

For those of you who are thinking to themselves "who the **** is Rowland S Howard", you know that song Shivers that the Screaming Jets covered so badly?

He wrote that when he was 15.

He was in the Boys Next Door and the Birthday Party with Nick Cave but his 2 solo albums "Teenage Snuff Film" and "Pop Crimes" are hidden gems of the Australian musical landscape. I urge you strongly to find them and become educated. There is also a documentary about him that was aired on the ABC a short whil back called Autoluminescent.

Sadly Rowland died a few years ago now so we only have those 2 masterpieces to remember him by.

^Footyhead m8, were you aware that Dave Gleeson performed all TSJ's classics to close out Tredders' Testimonial?

You'd have loved it especially me pretending I didn't when the younger members of our table had no idea who he was and assumed he was a brown belt in karaoke pulled out the Port Mall.

That would have been a tough night for me tribey. So much love for one man and then wanting to stick pins in my eyes while another sang... But I love tredders that much I may have even sat through Gleesons "singing" without wishing instant death upon him.

... Why's it called a ton anyway? ...
Don't know. Used to be used for 100 miles per hour too as in "I opened the FJ up coming down Willunga Hill and cracked the ton just before the bottom". Used a bit in cricket.

Best music clip ever.

I can't actually remember the song though.

Whenever I see this clip, all I ever think of is Lisa Douglas and "hooters-ville"

Went out and bought Led Zeppelins 4 after seeing school of rock and Jack Black's ramblings. Bitterly disappointed. There's like 4 and a half guitar songs and the rest of stoner nonsense, and usually I love Lord Of The Rings! They are not a hard rock band, the fathers of metal. From that era the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath all contributed more to the development of those genres. Most of the above also put on a better stage show.

Stones are awesome. Nuff said.

Favourite band will always be AC/DC for reasons I wont go in to because hey I've been judged one too many times from the bigfooty elitists of the music board.

Radiohead isn't my cup of tea but they do what they do and I wont judge or hold it against them.

Wait, if Promises sang "Baby it's you" what did The Babys sing?
This song and the groups Promises and the Babys are a classic trivial pursuit question - 90% of people get it wrong.
