Ford Fairlane and RussellEbertHandball will be jizzing in their pants as we speak.

Would be more excited if i didn't have only an hour or so to buy tickets next week before I head to the airport. I don't think I am going to get thru. There will be massive demand for his 3 indoor shows. I have no idea how big the venue is at hanging Rock in country Vic. A Gudinski wank fest i think. Then it will sell out and they will add new shows and maybe I will get thru then.

Is it just me or has Springsteen all of a sudden become incredibly popular amongst the under 30s. Seems like every young hipster renegade is blabbering on about "The Boss" like some 45yo line worker from New Jersey.

Yeah i've been thinking the same thing for the last 18 months. More so about USA kids than Oz kids.

His oldest son is about 22 and a muso. His son plays more hipster stuff so the Boss has added that to his entree of rock, blues, pop, folk and country stuff he plays - Rocky Ground from his Wrecking Ball CD is a classic example.

He has started talking at music venues where lots of different musical styles are played, so he is connecting with kids, does guest appearances with them or them on his tour eg Gas Light Anthem. A lot of youngsters grew up and listened to his stuff because there parents played his musid or they just listened and connected with lyrics about getting out of this town that's a death trap, to chase your dreams and visions. Their music style might be different but the kids remember those words. Plus he is very open to working with and helping young muso's. There isn't any rock star prima donna stuff with the Boss to fellow muso's.

Or maybe its the tough times in the US. His lyrics from previous tough times resonate - as do some of his new songs like the following from Jack of all trades

The banker man grows fat, working man grows thin
It’s all happened before and it’ll happen again
It’ll happen again, yeah they’ll bet your life
I’m a jack of all trades, darling we’ll be all right

Now sometimes tomorrow comes soaked in treasure and blood
We stood the drought, now we’ll stand the flood
There’s a new world coming, I can see the light
I’m a jack of all trades, we’ll be all right

So you use what you’ve got and you learn to make do
You take the old, you make it new
If I had me a gun, I’d find the bastards and shoot ’em on sight
I’m a jack of all trades, we’ll be all right
I’m a jack of all trades, we’ll be all right

Youngsters might be able to relate to the following contradictory thoughts he has always written about.

From his keynote address this year to annual South by SouthWest conference in Austin Texas where thousands of aspiring muso's turn up and try to get a lucky break or just expand their knowledge and networks.

I wish to one day have sex with a Boost Juice worker.

True story.

There were some real hotties at Boost Juice TTP back in the day. I miss those days. There was one in particular circa 2006-7, stunning brunette with amazingly thick lips, wish I found out more about her. Probably the biggest regret of my TTP days

Who knew that is where she got her start....

Take light in the fact that you never got the chance to be told to **** off by her... and your lovely memory of her remains intact

I love Philly. Architecture is amazing with all the olde England type buildings and cobble stone roads, the town hall is the biggest in the world apparently and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway leading up to the Rocky steps with all the flags lining the streets is cool.

Then head down to South street at night and get one of Jims famous cheese steaks washed down with a Mountain Dew followed by a few Buds at the pubs and bars :thumbsu:

Boy Meets World was set in Philly. That gives the place cred in my eyes.

Hate to be a pedant, but EFA.

For the record, I prefer Coors. Spewing it's not readily available here. Miller and Budweiser are also good.

Sam Adams? It's a bit of a stronger beer in terms of taste, especially the winter ales. It's a bit of a nostalgic beer for me being from the Boston/New England area.

I had a Sam Adams at Red Lobster, haha. It's good, but if your going for that maltier flavour I prefer Brooklyn Lager. It was on tap everywhere in Manhattan, and relatively cheap. I had one just the other day and nostalged all over myself.

The Grace Emily have a good range of imports tucked away in their old school wooden fridges. Another good American beer that my friends put me onto is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, it's from Cali. The Grace has that too.

I think Dan Murphy's stock both those beers too, but I'm not 100%.

I rather enjoy the music of the Mediæval Bæbes

Sounds that were around when Asgardian was a lot closer to the ground, gone from the charts but not from our hearts another solid gold hit on FM1099ad medieval ROCK ROCK ROCK ROCK ROCK ROCK ROCK All the time
