Well Springsteen sold out in record time. Scalpers are the scum of the earth. Seriously, I'd put them below the Nazis and Klansmen.

Luckily I got my Hanging Rock ticket in the presale on Wednesday. Hopefully he announces an Adelaide show in between his second Melbourne and first Hanging Rock show. There's enough time.
His manager has stated that there is no possibility of a concert in Adelaide.

Definite scum. To take the effort to buy tickets just to rip off the actual fans.

Going on eBay straight after a major ticket sale and seeing so many inflated tickets on there annoys me so much.

Yup, their sole purpose is to prevent actual fans from seeing their favourite artists, to then give them the opportunity to put themselves into financial hardship out of desperation or just sell it to the rich crowd who don't give a shit and know they'll always be able to get tickets cos price doesn't matter to them.

Didn't realise cricket started today.

Turned on SBS and the Russian news was on. All the women had very distinctive drawn-on eyebrows and grey eye-shadow. Not the sort I'd want to be receiving through the mail.

Yeah, it's hard to boycott, because then you run the risk of never being able to see one of your favourite artists live.

I don't really remember, so I assume they were nothing noteworthy.

Just watching the big bash and was wondering why Jessica Yates has started wearing those ridiculous baggy shirts only to find out that she is pregnant... Shattered I'm running out of fox sports presenters to imagine myself with...

Interesting article from Boti Nagy

http://botinagy.com/blog/what-is-the-role/

"People can write what they like,'' Hemmerling said. "It's my money and my team.''

Well, it may have been his money - that we will never truly know. But as for it being his team?

That could not be more incorrect.

While he was indeed its relevant custodian, the truth is owners, associations, sponsors, CEOs, coaches and players do NOT own professional sporting teams.

The fans do.

Once you lose sight of that, you may as well prepare to shut up shop and move on.

The people who buy the tickets, the T-shirts, the caps, the polos, who go on the road - the people who hang out for an autograph and follow the club through good and bad, their lives empowered by victories and shattered by defeats - THEY own any club.

It is an important fact to remember, especially in this brave new world of social media, of Twitter, Facebook, youtube and the rest, where club and fan interaction is so much more immediate than ever before.

It has never ceased to amaze me, and probably never will, that people can believe media delight in writing so-called "negative'' and "agenda-driven'' stories.

Let me assure you of something right now. Life is a lot more fun and a lot easier when the sporting team you cover is travelling well.
Unless you take some morbid pleasure in watching people fail and/or suffer, you want your sporting team to succeed.

Yes, I thought people would find that part interesting/laughable. I think the Boti/36ers relationship is different to various Advertiser hacks/Port, as Boti is a fan of the Sixers.

I love that this thread you can change the theme within one post and here goes .... I am a school teacher who had her last day at school today and then had to treat herself for headlice ... talk about bringing your work home with you!!!

There are far worse things going around the school yard these days.

That John Lennon xmas song (so this is christmas) is depressing. Every time I hear it, I think of him getting shot :(

This thread is essentially a random chat thread and not necessarily for it's original purpose/title.

Would it be worth creating another thread for serious discussion of football that isn't Port-related like this, this or this?

Sometimes it would be nice to have a serious discussion about such things as Collingwood's drug culture, Brisbane's forward line or Geelong's dynasty closing just amongst us Port supporters.

I know we have the Crow chat thread in the BDC....

Sure, make another and chuck it in the BDC. You could be as famous as gopower is for starting this thread! (but probably not)
